Wiggs zero assists is because too many bricklayers tonight. Wiggs passing has looked good despite the lack of assists.

Wiggins has actually been pretty good tonight. Scoring the ball efficiently. This is less of a criticism -- rather, it's just odd to see. How does Wiggins manage to have the ball in his hands as much as he does, but still have zero assists through almost 30 minutes? It's just really odd. And it's not a singular event. Anyone have any ideas?

I think whats even more puzzling with the lack of assists and how people discuss his handle here that he still has a career positive assist to turnover ratio. He has the ball a lot but despite all the bad shots and ugly dribbling he still makes the right basketball plays, even with his passing. Which is why coaches probably keep playing him.

Well, he also tends to shoot his shot a lot of the time he gets the ball so those potential turnovers are more or less scored buckets or missed shots. I'd imagine that would play into it a lot. But yeah, he does also make the extra pass and reverse the ball when needed. Nothing flashy with his passes, but he also probably gets snake bit by guys missing shots off his passes.

Napier hurt. Hurt his hamstring. Dane Moore said he heard him say he popped it. We are not deep at PG and Napier is the only guy on the bench that can create offense for himself

Before the season, i thought it woukd be culver. After watching culver, i think well see point wiggs again.

I see a triple-double on the horizon -- 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 turnovers. He could probably average that as the starting point guard.

Culver going 2-5 from 3 is literally the only positive takeaway I have from this game. Any small sign that indicates that just may be he can hit the 3 is a good thing, as I think all the other stuff will eventually come together for him.

Welp. Pretty much an assumed loss -- even if Towns had never been suspended. The good-ish news is that the next three are winnable games, barring unforeseen injuries/wrestling matches.

Wednesday: at Memphis
Friday: vs. Golden State
Sunday: vs. Denver

Minnesota could be 6-3 or even 7-2 at the start of next week if they handle their business. Memphis is led by youth and still learning how to play with each other. Golden State is atrociously built and very banged up. I wouldn't be surprised if all three of Curry, Russell, and Green missed that game.

Wig was solid tonight. The effort was there. Can't fault him if his teammates miss open looks he serves them. He has a good start for the season so far.

I'm all for point culver with Napier out. I know culver has not looked good at all. But having the ball in his hands in his sophomore college season is what made him a top 6 prospect after strictly being a 3 and d guy and late 1st round prospect in his freshman season.

This was a blowout loss but was a likely loss even with KAT. We have 3 winneable games coming up and towns will be back. If we win the next 3 then I'm feeling really positive about this season.

Jim Pete with the ultimate prisoner of the moment commentary. Wiggins makes a three and an aesthetically-pleasing layup to end the half and Jim says, "He's having a great season. You have to admit it." He's had his moments, but by all accounts he still has a long way to go for it to be a solid season let alone a great one.

Good fight from the Wolves tonight through the first half. Hope they don't come up flat in the third quarter.

You don't think he's had a solid start to the season?

It depends on what context. He's had a solid start if you compare him to the last two years of himself, but he's been meh overall from a league-wide perspective. There have been the usual flashes of great play -- namely, the end of the Brooklyn and Miami games -- but the whole picture looks less impressive when you dig into the matter.

You confuse me a little bit. You've already established he's a lower echelon player in the league. For somebody who is one of the poorer players in the league, 20.4/5.6/2.0 plus his late game heroics would seem to be solid. At least most reasonable observers would say that.

some people are  expecting something more than what Wiggins is being asked to do. Sure, the assists could be better . . . . but tonight he drew 3 defenders on multiple occasions and kicked to the wide open 2 for  . . . clank. His rebounds could have been higher but on multiple occasions he tipped to someone else or kept the ball alive. We are trying to play team basketball, stat stuffing is bullshit (Love/Towns et al. . . ) and Wiggins is doing what the coaches want him to do. Play within the flow, draw and kick . .. etc ...

Wiggins is the 30th highest paid player in the league (behind DAngelo, Mike Conley, Chris Middleton, Gordon Hayward, Jimmy Butler and several players not playing) . .  Get over it.
