Damn, you gotta love LaVine.

He's the only guy on the team, with apologies to Dieng, that will put his ass on the line for someone else like that. I could see either of them getting in a scuffle to protect a teammate.

Gotta agree with you guys...as bad as Ricky was tonight, I love Zach standing up for him. I really like the guy too.

I'm just back from the game...not as depressing as my last one (the Knicks debacle), but still not very good. As far as bad performances go: Ricky was dreadful, Wig was totally outplayed on both ends of the court by the marvelous Leonard, and KAT wanted nothing to do with Gasol's and LMA'a length and decided to hang around the top of the key.
But here's the big question, and my warmest personal regards to the first poster who can correctly answer this question:
San Antonio played a tough game last night and the Wolves had the day off. So why were the Wolves clearly the team with the tired legs in the second half?
Come on now...it's an easy answer. I know Joachim Noah can get it.

Wig does really well when challenged and Thibs isn't giving him a chance tonight.
That's probably not by design, and instead more of Wiggins being a passive basketball player.
I guarantee you it's not.
It's impossible to say for sure when he's done it a lot through his career even against weak opponents. That much I know.
I've coached thousands of basketball games. It's plain as day what he's doing
No disrespect Coach CoolBreeze, but Andrew Wiggins just does this from time to time. He disengages, especially on nights when he doesn't have it all clicking. I'm not ready to give him that excuse when Thibodeau has repeatedly shown that he wants him to be our go-to guy. I think it's more logical that Thibs wants Wiggins to "get him" and "attack" as he often yells during games than to assume he'd rather Wiggins be a decoy and stay out of plays.
I'm done arguing this point, sorry I questioned your coach. But what I saw is Wiggins missed a few shots and Thibs went away from him in the half court. We will never know for sure, but I definitely saw it myself.
Cool -- I think (at least I hope) you'd see things more clearly if you were actually seeing these games live. Wiggins didn't just miss a few shots. He was standing around on the offensive end, not cutting, not hustling. He turned the ball over 4 times, including dribbling the ball off his knee out of bounds and failing to hang onto a good pass under the basket as he continued to display his questionable hands and vulnerability as a ball handler. And he didn't really get after it on the defensive end either. It was another night of disturbingly few trips to the line for a guy who needs to get to the line to score. Of course another night where the stats show he failed to help the team in other areas - zero steals, zero blocks, 2 assists and 5 boards, 2 of which simply fell into his hands without any effort by him.
I think Thibs is finally getting a sense of Andrew's severe limitations as a ball handler, which hamper his ability to give Andrew the ball and have him create the way Jimmy Butler did under Thibs. Yet, I think Thibs is trying to push Andrew and see what he can get from our most physically gifted player. Yes, Wiggins is a great talent, but the intensity just isn't there on anything approaching a consistent reliable basis. Nor are his skills as evidenced by his highly inconsistent shot. All this might change, but he's over 20% into his 3rd season with a lot of minutes his past two NBA seasons so it's understandable that some of us might becoming a bit cynical.

Probable because Wolves starters played much more minutes any Spurs starter except Leonard. Spurs ball movement in offense made Wolves also to use much more energy in defense than they had to use in defense.

I think that's part of it, mikkeman, but I think it goes beyond that. What is this...the 8th or 9th time this season that we have had a second half collapse after playing well the first half? Something is going on to cause this pattern, and playing off of something Noah once said, this continues to be my theory:
A 2-hour Thibs full-court practice is tougher on the legs than playing 32 minutes for Pop the night before a game. Anyone who didn't see a completely different defensive effort in the two halves tonight is blind. I'm tired of it.
