One of the things that makes this group of teams tough is the coaching is pretty legit. Earl Watson is a young guy and Luke Walton is worth giving some benefit of the doubt if you want but after that it's pretty legit guys Thibs, Malone, Joegrer, Carlisle, Stots and Gentry.

Holy crap, Denver just dropped 79 points on Golden State in the first half. Jokic with 13 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals, and +24.......in 16 minutes. That's absurd.

Denver by the way features a bunch of young guys in their rotation: Jokic (21), Hernangomez (21), Murray (19!), and Gary Harris (22). This is a team with some trade assets too. They could very easily take a big jump next season with he core I just mentioned. We need to remember that before getting too enamored with our young guys!

Denver has a lot of good vets on their team that can produce. Gallo, wilson chandler, jameer nelson, faried and barton. Those are legit starters or rotation guys in the league and mix them with the young talent they have then they are a better team than us right now.

With the wolves, we depend a lot on the 3 21yr olds we have. Dieng is solid and rubio has started playing well of late but we thats about it as far as playable vets for the team. Rush only plays when lavine is out. Cole only plays 4mins in the 1st half of every game and hill looks very happy to never play.

It will be interesting to see to see what Gallo does this offseason big summer for a lot of teams with potential in the Nuggets, Jazz and wolves

I like the Plumblee addition for them too. He can play with all the other bigs on Denver.

But last night Nuggets were missing Gallo, Faried, Chandler and even Arthur didn't play at all. In addition they were missing Mudiay as well. Their only veterans that played were Nelson, 100 year old Mike Miller and Will Barton, who has about same amount of NBA experience in games than Dieng. And they beat Warriors by 22 points.

Absolutely stunning shooting performance from Denver. They hit 24 three pointers with 60% accuracy. Jokic was monster again with 17pts, 21rbs and 12 asts triple double. Rookie Hernandogomez had 27 pts (6 three pointers) and 10 rebounds.

I think Denver is in a somewhat similar situation to us. Yes, they have more established vets than we do, but those guys seem to be short-timers. That team is being built around the guys I mentioned. And what is their #1 problem? Defense, just like us.

This thread just won't die.....Here we are again 3.5 games back of Denver, with Portland losing tonight and Sacramento playing Golden State.

We better get our big boy pants on though, because March is not an easy month schedule-wise....lots of road games. May be we'll run up against more injury-riddled teams though since it's getting late in the season.

Good stuff tonight.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but with Matt Barnes about to be released the Wolves should consider him. He's almost exactly what we need to make a playoff push this year. He would provide a much needed edge and hopefully rub off on some of our softer stars. I hate the guy, but he would make a difference this year.
