I'll compile my hopes for the offseason

Trades: Martin for Calderon and a 2nd, good ideas to both Cam and TRKO but I think the Martin for Calderon trade is more likely.
31 and 36 for 14 (OKC) (Reason Why OKC would consider above)

Draft Towns #1
Okafor #2
Winslow #3
Russell #4
And then at 14 if we draft a big go after Dekker or Booker and if we draft Winslow or Russell draft Looney

Finally bring over Bjelica

Preferably
Rubio Calderon
Wiggins LaVine
Shabazz Dekker
Garnett Bjelica
Towns Pek

OKC aren't trading Adams for anything we have not named Wiggins, LaVine or this years top 3 pick.

Hire:
Billy Donavan- A young highly accomplished coach who would thrive with our youth and athleticism.

Trade:
Kevin Martin
To New York For
Jose Calderon
Future first round pick

This trade accomplishes 3 things that are vital this offseason. One it clears playing time for LaVine and Muhammed. It gives us a quality backup PG. It also gives us a future first to make up for some poor trades in the past. Martin is a great fit in Phil's triangle offense. The Knicks will want to win next year.

Draft
1 Karl Anthony-Towns C Kentucky-
High upside two way player who fits a huge need.

33 George Luca PG Brazil- A stash candidate who is highly athletic and a 7' wingspan. Very high upside.

36 Robert Upshaw C Washington- High upside, with character issues. In my view second round picks should be used on high upside gambles.

Resign:
Kevin Garnett- Having the veteran Garnett playing with and being around Towns is huge. Towns could develop into a bulkier KG. Watching how KG goes about things and learning from him should only help Towns.

Gary Neal- A good three point shooter for his career. Played well for us in 11 games this year. Fills the backup SG spot.

First Team:
C- Karl Anthony-Towns
PF- Kevin Garnett
SF- Andrew Wiggins
SG- Zach LaVine
PG- Ricky Rubio

Second Team:
C- Nikola Pekovi?
PF- Gorgui Deng
SF- Shabazz Muhammed
SG- Gary Neal
PG- Jose Calderon

Analysis- The PF position isn't ideal. My idea with an old Garnett and a fragile Pekovi? along with a versatile Towns is to platoon Garnett and Pekovi?. Hopefully you can keep minutes low for both of them and stretch out their usage. Wiggins, Towns, and LaVine is a heck of a young trio.

How young/old is a guy to be a young coach? I ask because it occurred to me Billy Donovan isn't all that young and I looked it up he turns 50 in a couple weeks. Obviously that's not old for a coach but is it really "young"? Just asking I am trying to decide what I think myself.

I like it TRKO. As for Calderon and Martin.. Martin's has a higher skill to salary value than Calderon. Calderon's contract might make him a neutral contract or maybe borderline require them to pay a team to take him.

Trading both our 2nds for a mid 1st is an interesting idea. Not sure if the Thunder would do that or not, but I'm also not sure we'd want two rookies this year, especially first rounders since we have a bunch of youth already. I wouldn't mind trading for a future pick either, but pick #31 is fairly valuable. It allows teams to take EU stashes with contract issues like we did with Pek or simply take advantage of non guaranteed contracts.

As for Towns, I want to see Flip do whatever it takes to get him within reason (while not giving up any of our top assets), but if we land him it might be best to start him at C and slowly work in some PF minutes later on. It really depends on how he performs before the season. Can't wait to see how this off season pans out.

The only chance we have to get Towns is to either have us or Philadelphia get the first pick. I would trade both second rounders as well as my first to get him. We really need a talented two way big.

What other team would have a trio as nice as Wiggins, Towns, and LaVine? Those are three outstanding building blocks. We would need to get a young PF who brings energy and defense and decide if Rubio is our PG moving forward. We would also need to develop bench role players.

I like the idea of Dieng getting some good run at PF especially if it's next to Pek and Towns. I still see Rubio as the PG in this group of very young talent. He brings it all together. At the end of next year we should know where Dieng & Bennett stand as bigs and have a much better idea of Payne moving forward too. That's if both Bennett & Payne are on the roster next season.
