Love's passive agressive comments today may be a ploy to further alienate himself from the organization and force the team to move him sooner rather than later. And you know what? I'd give the SOB what he wants at this point. I have long believed that as we get closer to the draft, the offers are going to intensify as a mini bidding war develops. If I'm Flip I play everybody against each other and make a great deal. Don't see how we can bring that POS back here now. Yes, I'm pissed. And if that means his actions worked as he intended so be it.

1) Love is going to be traded, most likely by the conclusion of the draft. I just see a lot of wishful thinking when it comes to Love staying here. Too much has transpired and it's not realistic to think this will have a fairy tale ending.

2) Someone mentioned Shved and pinning hopes on him becoming a better backup PG than Barea. Barea isn't good by any means, but did we WATCH Shved last year? Put down the pipe fellas.

3) Some posters seem to dismiss Pek because of the money he makes. He's only overpaid because he misses so much time. When he's on the court he's a beast and he plays with Ricky beautifully on the P & R. Dieng is exciting and we should be optimistic about him, but that doesn't make Pek a throwaway.

Gotta agree with lip here, cool...for me it's pessimism, not optimism, that has me thinking Love plays for us in 2014-15. I just don't see any attractive deals likely to materialize, and I trust Flip not to pull the trigger on a substandard deal. The optimism for me comes into play in thinking there's a chance they improve enough to convince Love to stay.

Love said today that he isn't going to comment, but rather let his agent handle everything. Here's what I think his agent wants. To create an environment where Love is coveted enough to convince Flip to deal him this year. Then, Love can sign a long-term max deal with his new team, and the agent can cash out on that deal. But if Flip doesn't trade Love and he elects to become a free agent, Love's agent will then be singing a different tune. Since Love can get $26 million more with the Wolves than with any other team, the best and safest deal for Love's agent will be for him to take the max deal with the Wolves. If the Wolves improve to 50 wins next year with Love, I expect him to be saying to Kevin "Look, this team is on the rise, and it's your best financial deal by far. It's your decision, but I think you should take the Wolves' max deal".

Long, Love can't even talk an extension till late January, and I think that is only for two additional years on top of his option. He has to opt out to get another 5 year deal, which is why the first blurb about Love telling the wolves that he wouldn't sign an extension was completely meaningless. He would be foolish to sign an extension with any team. He can sign for 3 years in January or 5 in July, don't have to be a real thinker to guess that one.

What would Love's agent have to handle if he wasn't getting traded? Love is under contract for this season already.

What I think Kevin wants now (and his agent too) is a trade to a team that has a chance to win, or at least a better chance than he perceives the wolves to have. It's my understanding that Kevin can then play for them through the end of his contract, and then sign a max deal with them. I think this is what Kevin wants, but I don't think Flip will trade him now if he doesn't get a huge return.

Denver, cleveland, orlando all thought winning and money can keep their star and it didnt. All 3 are playoff teams when their star forced a trade ir left because of their desire to 'win'. Cant see love or this situation being any different. Its time to move on from love.

Exactly, which is why im pissed at love and the system and culture that allows players this kind of power.

Keeping love isnt the solution alex. Doing that will just pro long the agony. Trusts is broken and we are at riak of losing him for nothing or getting far less in return. Im afraid making the playoffs might not be enough. It wasnt for the 3 teams mentioned and it wont be for us.

The system of not allowing shitty front offices get away for being terrible? Do you think it's by chance that the two best front offices in the league are playing in the finals? What this situation SHOULD do is make Glen Taylor look in the mirror and say that what he's doing isn't working. What is he doing instead? The complete opposite. THATS WHY this team hasn't made the playoffs in a decade

Alex, who are the big name FA's signing in Detroit, Milwaukee, Toronto, or Cleveland? Detroit won a title!

Don't say Josh Smith, because we both know he is only there because he was overpaid, and isn't truly a star player.

Our markets have to draft well, and even then have a hard time competing against teams that build their benches with bought out FA's playing for pennies.

Alex, the best teams battle in the finals and the best win every year. The system right niw is there are 30 teams vying for the title. Yes, some front office make blunders and deserve to be at the bottom. No one is making excuses for glen or any owners. But when players starts demanding to be paired up with other stars and forced their way to it,It isnt right anymore. We might as well dissolve 10 teams so stars can play together and fulfill their goals of winning. There is a professional way of handling this and going the public route with your agent working on it is creating a tense and paranoid situation for all involved.

I have probably watched ten NBA games other than the wolves this season. I have watched about 3 quarters of the finals. I am pretty sure that will fall to zero if the Melo thing happens. Maybe I'll do what these prima donnas do, and take my ball and go home. What is the sense of watching a fixed outcome. So I can see Lebron James throw down on a 170lb Jason Terry and act like he did something unbelievable. I could have done that in my prime.
