How many guys were sitting for Orlando?

Yes, my compliments to Q for an outstanding performance.

BUT...how much enjoyment did we get last night from beating up on a poor G-League type team? Does last night's win automatically change our losing culture? Of course not. I'd be happier this morning if we had rested KAT, Rubio, Ant and McDaniels, and been a better match for the depleted Magic. We could have watched Vando work on his 3-point shot, and we would still be in the running for the bottom three. I can't get no satisfaction this morning.

Anyone remember what the line was? That team has been really decimated by injuries and trades.

Had the Wolves lost, I can assure you there would be a lot more hand-wringing and despondency. The fact they pummeled a team they should have is a good thing. So while in the big scheme of things, you can't take too much away from the win, not all of their recent play has been against poor teams. Those wins against Utah and Golden State were legit.

I appreciate this post. How many years past have we seen talented Wolves players give up on a season because we no longer had they playoffs in view? I find it refreshing to see this team show some pride in their profession. This attitude is positive and should be reinforced within this organization.

Yes, the Magic had a G-League caliber team on the floor with all their injuries. That's why it was impossible for the Wolves to soft-tank this one. Even Mark Madden wouldn't have been enough. If we had just barely beaten the 7.5 point spread, I would have been disappointed. Winning by 30 points and never giving Orlando a chance at any point in the game makes me feel really good about this win. The Wolves have been hanging with, and in some cases beating, the better teams in the League lately. Then they trounced a terrible team. That's exactly what a good team should do. Last night's lopsided win over Orlando was another sign that this Wolves team is headed in the right direction and can be a playoff team next season.

That's a pithy comment that I would usually agree with, but I'll push back on this one. If you played a game of one-on-one to 21 against my 97-year-old grandmother and won 21-2, would winning that game be good? Well, I would argue that beating a team that is clearly trying to lose (but resting all of its good players) is about as meaningful. Why not level the playing field by resting our good players too? It would be a more enjoyable game to watch, and would provide the additional benefit of perhaps increasing our chances of improving our roster. I got no enjoyment out of that Magic win at all.
