I'm not. Just sign whoever is left. That pick is a nice value for a team that now will need to be looking for young cheap players to develop.

Reluctantly, I'm with you Monster. I really hate to go into a draft without a 1st round draft pick. But beyond our concern over the lack of 3-point shooting, I'm more concerned about the lack of any rotation wing player who can backfill behind Wiggins or Butler. They shouldn't play more than 35 minutes. So who's going to play the remaining cumulative 26 minutes per game at those two positions? And who's going to fill in for any stretch of games when one or the other is out with an injury. Wiggins has been highly durable, but Butler has missed an average of about 15 games per season with various nagging injuries -- not surprising given how hard he plays. And even with Wiggins anything can happen. We're incredibly vulnerable right now to a HUGE drop off when Wiggins and Butler aren't both in the game.

Lip, I know you like keeping future first round picks, but given what you've just said about us being so thin behind Wiggins and Butler, would you still not consider including that pick with Aldrich to open cap space for a more established player, or maybe in a sign and trade with an RFA?

This team is going to have a continual need to reload around KAT, Buckets, and Wig going forward. They're always going to be tight up against the cap or very close to it so having younger players grow into reserve roles will be vital. Unless they believe they're all in on winning it all in the next two seasons I think it would be foolish. On the other hand I guess if they do trade the pick to clear space and the result is a team that truly competes with, and shows itself to be close to beating the Warriors then vets will be begging to sign, or something.
