What I like about Miller is his rebounding. He averaged 11 boards per game with the Ignite last season. I also like the fact that he’s still really young at age 19. He was generally regarded as a late first-round prospect so I guess that’s a good thing, but it’s not like he was projected as a lottery talent. What we really need in my view are dynamic ball-handlers and young PG prospects in the organization. We also need shooting prospects. Miller doesn’t provide any of that.
Andre Jackson Jr. Would have been a much better pick. He’s a great passer, excellent defender and good ballhandler. He would bring toughness which we really need. We have enough nice guys. We need tough guys. His shooting isn’t good but that can improve.
Amari Bailey is a really good PG prospect who reminds me of Mike Conley with his speed with the ball.

Do we still have pick #53?

Hasn’t been announced yet. If the pick is Leonard Miller, I’m really disappointed.
Really? I thought you liked him. Why are you disappointed?
I don’t dislike Miller. Two things make me not like the pick. First, he’s redundant in relation to Jaden and Minott. Second, I thought we should be drafting for need and we really need a young PG prospect in the organization. With Amari Bailey available, I think he would have been a much better choice.
Maybe TC is trading Prince so Miller fills a void. Maybe Prince will be used in a trade to get a point guard. Washington and Orlando both have extra point guards. I'm still hoping we sign Kennedy Chandler to develop, along with either trading for a backup point guard or signing Carter or Milton.

There goes Amari Bailey at #41...
While we could use PG prospects, it's pretty long odds that a 2nd round PG is gonna develop into a starting PG. The Wolves will need to fill that void in another way, like trading one of our bigs somewhere down the road.

I'm sure #53 will be someone I never heard of... But I'll be thrilled if we wind up with Craig Porter Jr.

Reading and watching about Miller I don’t think there is any overlap with McDaniels. He is more of a Vanderbilt type that might actually be able to shoot than a big wing. He scored over 18 points and over 11 rebounds in the G-league as a 19 year old that used to be a guard. Sounds kinda good to me.

You won’t make them if you don’t take them. The second round is a great opportunity to take a shot at getting what you need at a minimal cost. I’d like this organization to take a shot at landing our future PG in the second round even though it’s likely that we’ll have to get that PG by trading one of our bigs as you suggested.

Why be locked into one position in adding talent?

The good news is that three of my targeted PG prospects are still available as we approach the 53rd pick:
1. Isaiah Wong
2. Craig Porter Jr.
3. Jazian Gortman
