Unless I missed something Kevin Martin is still available. I'm mentioning this because it's sort of surprising even though he had a bad year last year. At this point of the offseason he is probably looking at some cheap deals and therefore maybe being picky. We always talk about how guys struggle shooting hear with the Wolves particularly the 3 but Martin was an exception. As bad as he was with the Wolves last year shooting the ball he was even worse with the Spurs in his 16 regular season games. Maybe he really did decline quickly but I would think some team may get a bargain. It was only 1 year ago the guy was putting up his 20ppg on typical shooting percentages. My guess is he can still make shots as a bench guy even if his bigtime scoring days are well behind him.

Good point about Kevin Martin. I wonder if he is thinking he will retire. Unless he is playing for a championship he might feel it is not worth it. How many playoff games did he play in his career?

Yeah, Martin has to be the best shooter left in free agency. We talk about what a poor season he had last year, but he did hit 37% of his threes in 20MPG for us...just short of his 38% career average. If Thibs thinks we still need more shooting and one of our "mysterious three" ends up not being on the roster, he could do a lot worse than to bring Kevin back. We don't know what he is looking for, but he has more relationships with guys on our roster than any other.

I wouldn't advocate for Martin to be on the Wolves roster. It just seems weird to bring him back.
Sidenote:
I guess Martin was smart not to give up any money in his contract for this year. What a quick decline he had in a few months. He is a bit of a cautionary tale for players (get your money) and teams (some guys may not be what they once were) in a few ways.

Monster and cool...I take it that you both would prefer Payne over Martin as our 15th man then? I'm not saying I disagree because I have not totally given up on AP, but I think I would favor Martin slightly just because you can never have enough shooting.

I don't even want to see a Kevin Martin low-light video, much less have him in uniform again. Just a few things I would rather do:
1) Get crushed by a rear end loader
2) Have my appendix taken out without anesthesia
3) Sit through the entire series of Medicine Woman
4) Mate with a 1500 pound farm animal
5) Sleep in a bunk bed under Oprah

I'm surprised he hasn't been picked up yet. He could be a decent scorer of the bench for someone. He may be finished but I think some team would take a shot on the guy regaining form.

Steve Novak is a better shooter and he interests me more than Kmart. That said I like Dorrell Wright better for his all around skills.
