Coaching Changes Work!

The Wild have been historically bad scoring goals, then they fire Yeo and they proceed to score 21 goals in four games, 6 in dominating the Hawks in their Stadium Series game!

I only bring this up because I want everybody to know what we're risking should the Wolves fire Smitch.

So long overdue. The players no longer respected Yeo, and did not see his coaching style succeeding (sounds familiar).

Sounds all too similar to the Wolves coaching problems. Sam was brought into the position due to the passing of Flip, but may would agree that Sam is not doing a good job of coaching. Take your pick, his hockey shifts (no pun intended), lack of creativity, not capitalizing on match-ups, or not being able to identify who he's going to start Prince or Zach.

Don't wait too long after the season is over to make a change or we are stuck with Sam again.

We don't have a guy waiting in the wings to take over if Sam gets fired now like the Wild did. Torchetti's been an interim guy twice so he was prepared to take over. If you fire Sam now who's gonna be the coach? All our assistants are no where near capable or prepared to be a head coach. Unfortunately we're just gonna have to wait it out.

I barely follow the Wild but I am glad its working out. As for the Wolves situation Sam is the guy you woud have had take over if you fired Flip so... yeah. I mean do you want Lowe coaching this team? I'd probably be most interested in Brian Gates as head coach out of the guys we have currently if we dumped Sam and promoted somebody which won't happen and quite frankly I understand why.

Speaking of coaching changes, BB has been Yuuuuge for the Wild! Through 8 games they've now scored 27 goals, 3.375 per game putting them among the league leaders. Yeo coaching this same basic roster was lucky to eek out 3GPG in 20% of their games.

The Wild are an exciting team to watch, has that ever been the case before?
