2023 offseason

Brian Flores is the new DC. Personally I'm glad we got him over the other guys that were less proven. Idk how long he will be a DC before maybe getting another HC gig but that was a question for most of the guys they interviewed. Flores is super aggressive and I feel confident that regardless of who is or isn't here next season in terms of players the defense will be better. Obviously the bar is set pretty low... lol

I like the hiring as well. I am not one to put 100 on the former DC though either. We could have blitzed more, but I simply think we didn't have the players to do it well. Too old, too slow, too over the cap.
I think it's likely the defense is still bad next year. There are simply too many holes to fill and no money to fill them, or draft picks either.
I would trade Kirk if he is willing to accept it, otherwise let him ride out his last year of his contract and start looking for a replacement this offseason and next (if no one shows anything from this draft).
I think some element of luck or good fortune goes into winning 11 one score games last year as well. I expect 8-9 wins or worse. Things went right for the Vikes. They were and are not that talented overall as a team. About a .500 squad who outperformed in most games.

Hey FA is only a few days away. It will be interesting to see who goes and who stays. I guess the Vikings and Tomlinson agreed to push back the deadline for his deal so maybe they figure something out to keep him. I have no idea what kind of money he is worth.

Kendrick's is the first domino to fall. I agree with the move and sad that he will be gone. He was a very good player and is a good dude. Asamoah is a supposed to be the guy that will step in. He did seem to show some
Ability when he was put out there last season. Will Hicks stick around or will they try and replace him one way or another too? Who is next? Who is willing to take a pay cut to stick around? The Kendrick's move shows they are willing to let a guy go and to be honest Kendricks contract situation is more cut and dry. Broken and Harrison Smith if they don't take pay cuts simply won't be back.
On QBs around the league Geno Smith is back in Seattle and Carr signed with the Saints. I'm interested to see what the final numbers are for both guys but especially in Carr's case he didn't seems to get a massive deal. I'm not saying he deserved more but I thought he would get more than what has been first reported.

Gonna be interesting to see what the final contract is for Daniel Jones. Supposedly his cap hit for this upcoming season is 19 million.
Jets and Rogers are meeting. It's funny there is a possibility of that scenario happening again.

This is my last day as a Vikings fan. They let Duke Shelley go and disrespected him with a low offer.
