In the first game of the summer league season, the Rockets came out with a boom. The difference in this game? Terrance Jones.
In less than 30 minutes T. Jones got 24 points on 9 of 13 shooting, and tore down an impressive 13 rebounds. His stats may be padded due to the fact that Trevor Mbakwe guarded him in his main scoring bursts. In 12 minutes Trevor posted a stunning -26. I don't believe in +/- but that is just disgraceful. Not only that affected the 76's, but Micheal Carter Williams went 8-23 and posted NINE turnovers.

Orlando came out and shined with it's young star Oladipo. Oladip had 18 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 5 steals. He hit the first three shots for Orlando (two threes off the dribble and a lay-up) but cooled off after the first half. The scoring punch was continued though from R. Osby (who? haha) who had 18 points off the bench, Moe Harkless who had 15 points and 8 rebounds. and the duo of Kyle O'Quinn, and Doron Lamb who combined for 24 points. The Celtics didn't go away, and were propelled by a great wave Kelly Olynyk who was just splendid. He got 25 points on 9-12 shooting with 8 rebounds with Tony Mitchell scoring 16 points. It was close, but in the end the Magic pulled it out.

When I say boring game, I mean BORING game. I tuned out quickly. All I can say is Trey Burke looked horribly out of shape. He was super slow, and just had no burst of energy. He ended up 1-13  At least he got 5 dimes and 7 rebounds. As for Rudy Gobert, he was lost on offense. He will be a decent one-way player as he got 3 blocks. As for the Heat... they have nobody interesting, haha.
From NBA
The Nets and Heat both came into day two of the Southwest Airlines Orlando Pro Summer League winless, but the Miami Heat got a notch in the win column Monday, downing the Brooklyn Nets, 93-86, at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla. The Heat featured a balanced scoring attack with four players in double figures, led by Scotty Hopson's 22 and Ian Clark's 19 points.
The fourth and final game of day two of summer league action proved to be nothing like the contest played before it -- in game three, the Celtics defeated the Pistons by 30, the fifth-largest margin of victory in Orlando summer league history. This contest, on the other hand, was back and forth the majority of the way and it wasn't until the game's final five minutes that Miami was able to pull away. Both teams shot nearly 50 percent from the floor, but the difference came in the form of turnovers. While both teams were careless with the ball -- Miami committed 17 to Brooklyn's 24 -- Miami was able to capitalize with 33 points off the Nets' miscues.
Despite another strong showing from first round draft pick Mason Plumlee, Jason Kidd suffered his second loss in as many days as an NBA head coach. Plumlee, who recorded a double-double on day one with 10 points and 14 rebounds, hit all eight shots from the field en route to 23 points while pulling down nine boards. Second-year veteran Tyshawn Taylor had a solid game for the losing squad as well, finishing with a game-high 25.
Play resumes in the Southwest Airlines Orlando Pro Summer League Tuesday morning with Indiana taking on Boston at 11 a.m. The Heat face the Magic in the nightcap at 5 p.m., while the Nets have the day off.

This game was the most fun to watch from a one team stand point. OKC was just rolling tonight. Four of the five starters came together to get an amazing 58 points. Daniel Orton looked nice tonight 15 points and two blocks, but the impressive big man was (Grant?) Jarret. He got 17 points on 4-5 from behind the arc, and three massive packs. From the guard position, Jeremy Lamb showcased his picture perfect jumper getting 14 points, but he missed a lot of shots. (11) He was pretty inconsistent tonight. The point-guard D Buycks was a star tonight posting 12 points and 13 assists. The record for the Orlando league was set by Brandon Knight two years ago. (14) The scoring D-League guard was dishing dimes tonight. Pick #12 Steven Adams got two points, six rebounds, and two blocks. The Pacers put up a fight, as my main man Orlando Johnson posted 17 points. Questionable pick Solomon Hill looked good going 3-3 from the field (2-4 from the line) getting a solid 9 points.

The Pistons and the Nets had a mighty dual, but the Pistons reigned supreme behind Andre Drummond's huge game. Andre Drummond had 12 points, (on 36% shooting, but he is trying new post up moves.[Also on 22% (2-9) on free-throws) but also put together 16 rebounds, (tying the record of Orlando) six blocks, (tying the record at Orlando) and FIVE steals. He did have 7 TO's, but only four were his fault, and again he was trying post ups. All in all, we knew he could do this because he is a beast. The real story of this game? Kentavious Cadewell Pope, but for all the wrong reasons. He went 1-10 and had four turnovers. Though I admit I dismissed all of Drummond's turnovers, he redeemed himself as KCP didn't even play good defense. He was destroyed by Damion James who put together (7-11) 14 points. He did make Damion turn it over 3-4 times (6to's in the game) by altering passing angles, but he was just average. All in all, a performance Kentavious will definitely want to forget. For the Nets first pick (#22) Mason Plumlee had a solid night scoring 10 points on 3 of 5 shooting, and actually played good post defense on Drummond. Damion James also played well for them getting 14 points on 11 shots.. All in all...

79-78
http://www.nba.com/games/20130707/OKCIND/gameinfo.html?ls=slt#
This was an intense summer-league game! With a minute to go, the Orlando Magic were up by two points, and looking strong, but their victory aspirations were slowly dispelled. Oklahoma guard Buycks got up and popped a three with fifty seconds to go giving them a one point lead. Things got heated when a double technical was assessed to Moe Harkless and Robertson after Robertson hammered Moe on a lay-up. Moe hit the clutch free throws, and the Magic regained the league. With twenty seconds, the Oklahoma City Thunder had the ball on the side-line. Jeremy Lamb got it with ten seconds, took a dribble, and drilled a pull-up fade-away jumper. The game was won 79-78.

A big story of the game was the tough battle of the shooting guards. They shut each other down! Victor Oladipo went 2 for 12, but ended up with 12 points with a tenacious foul rate. He shot 8 for 10 from the line tonight. Jeremy Lamb also shot poorly, going 4-16, and an atrocious 1-9 from behind the arc. In the end though, he came through in the clutch, hitting the game winning basket.

(He will be a third string point-guard if he plays his cards right. Maybe a little better.) This game was a border-line blow-out, so I will keep this brief. Only K. Wyatt and Arnett Moultrie played well tonight for the 76's, and MCW was 4-20. (12-43 in the summer league) Trevor Mbakwe will only make the team if they are REALLY looking to tank. Enough negatives, on to the positives. If the summer league shows what the NBA's young talent truly is, then they did pretty well at the draft. Solomon Hill went 7-11 (4-5) scoring a brilliant 22 points with 9 rebounds, and four assists. Plumlee was good tallying an efficient 16 points on 7-13 shooting, and four blocks.

Pope can't shoot threes, and he is 1-14 in summer league. He did however have 4 steals, so he is redeemed. The real gross player today was (Kyle?) English. He went 0-8, and had three turnovers. I am giving the LVP away right now, and it was him. For the Celtics, D. Johnson Odom and Kelly Olynyk stole the show. D.
