Wolves v Heat GDT

I'm starting the thread early today with the following news about the Heat's injury situation:

Butler is back in Miami due to his knee injury, and sharpshooter Tyler Herro (ankle) is expected to miss his eighth consecutive game. Gabe Vincent (knee) is moving closer to a return, but fellow guard Victor Oladipo (knee) remains without a timetable.

I'll say this. The Wolves cannot be taken seriously this season if they lose tonight's game. Lose tonight and I'll put the rest of my season tickets up for sale.

Great minds think alike, Lip...I just posted the same thought in another thread. And by the way, Bam will play but is nursing a bad hand, and they're on the back end of a back to back (and the third road game in four nights). This is another scheduling gift from the NBA! Don't worry, they won't lose tonight.

And I'm a terrific prognosticator...after all, I predicted a Vikings win yesterday!

Take care of business. This chunk of the schedule could have put us in a precarious situation in terms of record and momentum. Instead we are ironing out the kinks on both sides of the ball while playing real games. Keep that ball moving, keep getting our players more reps on drop coverage.

Minnesota's starting unit -- D'Angelo Russell, Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Rudy Gobert -- has a +17.6 net rating in the 82 minutes played together over their past five games -- 122.9 ORtg, 105.3 DRtg.

Among the five-man units that have played at least 50-minutes over their last five games, Minnesota's starters rank third in offensive rating, fifth in defensive rating, third in net rating, third in defensive rebounding percentage, and third in effective field goal percentage as well as true shooting percentage.

Patience is being rewarded. Some of you might not recognize it (yet), but this team is showing signs of figuring out who they are and playing high-level basketball after a wonky, slow start to the season.
