Wembanyamania (got me down)

What's been more disappointing than our season so far? Missing out on Wembanyama.

For my son's birthday this year, I was hoping to get us tickets to go see Wembanyama next Saturday when his team visits SLUC Nancy, which is about 3 hours from us. It's a relatively small gym. Would have been awesome. Was going to take my wife too (Nancy is a hub of Art Nouveau architecture and design, which she loves). It was gonna be great.

You can only buy tickets for SLUC Nancy games on their website, and when I called, they wouldn't tell me when the tickets would go on sale. I got a tip from a season ticket holder (a co-worker's sister's ex-husband) that tickets were going on sale on the 17th, but nobody knew at what time.

So after waiting in futility at midnight last night, I went to bed, got up early and was watching the website like a hawk, stopping only to make myself a coffee. I took my eyes off the screen for maybe 10 minutes, and when I came back, the tickets were on sale. You have to pick your specific seats, and by the time I got in there, they were basically all gone. Ten minutes! With no clear warning at what time they'd go on sale!

On a positive note, it's distracted me from being disappointed in the Wolves for a bit. I guess if our season is REALLY a letdown, at least I might have hope we could get him!

Sorry about that, Drew!

But coincidentally, if you change just one letter, SLUC Nancy was the name of my high school girlfriend.
