Was reading on twitter that the Wolves dream for the position is Gus Johnson. Not sure if it is realistic, but I am a huge Gus fan. I will look at 4 college football games on at the same time, and end up choosing the one Gus is doing because of Gus. I feel bad for Dave Benz, but if they could somehow pull Johnson into the fold it would make for great telecasts.

I also saw that. That would be massive big game hunting. I also like Gus Johnson but not sure I would like him for 82 games a year because he makes every game seem like the biggest thing ever

Gus Johnson would be a tremendous add and a big-time upgrade over Dave Benz, and I say that while acknowledging that I've enjoyed Benz over the years. Johnson brings excitement to every game he calls.

Screaming Gus Johnson! I'm old enough to remember when he was our play by play guy for a season back in the 90s...I was unhappy when he got stolen away. Hard to believe this hapless franchise has had both Johnson and Kevin Harlan. I see some similarities. They're both smart, funny and enthusiastic.

My favorite Johnson line: "He's got 'gettin away from the cops' speed!" Pretty sure Harlan couldn't have gotten away with that line ;-) .

Interesting. I have been wondering what was happing with this spot hire. I wonder how much the Wolves are willing to pay him. I looked at an article that said how much various guys got paid and some people clearly good at their jobs are locked into some underwhelming deals. Supposedly Gus makes $500,000 a year now. I would assume to get him here the salary would have to be 2-4 times that maybe even more.

Yeah, I was surprised by the Benzie decision because I thought he had really grown into the job. I thought sometimes he got needled unnecessarily by J-Pete.

Gus Johnson would be a huge name. That would be nuts if we landed him.

If Gus Johnson doesn't work out let's sign Noah Eagle away from Clippers radio. He fits the timeline better anyways.

Noah is a bit to chatty for my taste. If it turns out to be Noah, he has to change the hair.
