Yes!
They've already taken a good step in not allowing continuation so often, including for "rip throughs." And they do call some of the most egregious leg kick-outs on shooters. But yeah, this jumping sideways or backwards(!) into the defender to shoot the ball just to draw the foul has got to stop. And I hope thy cut down on the leg kick outs a bit more too. I'm all for pump-faking the defender off his feet and then drawing the foul with a normal shooting motion. That's legit. It rewards a good, fair offensive play, punishes a defensive mistake, and hopefully improves the game by incentivizing defenders not to bite on pump-fakes. But this other stuff is just trickery that breaks up the flow of the game with free throws that offensive players are manufacturing without significant mistakes by defenders.

Yes, the start-to-dribble-around-a-screen-and-then-suddenly-stop-and-jump-sideways-into-chasing-defender move is the one that just kills me.
I haven't seen many of these foul-baiting shenanigans in the playoffs, so the refs are either calling the games differently or the defenders are so well attuned to the guys that do this stuff that they know better.
By the way, I think this type of change will only help Edwards relative to other top scorers. He has the type of raw athleticism and strength that will lead to more and more legitimate foul-calls and doesn't need to rely on trickery to get to the line. All he needs is to not be a rookie anymore. I suspect we'll see things called differently with him next season.
