KAT to the Blazers?

I just listened to the Stephen A Smith "revelation" about KAT going to the Blazers. First, let me say that I'm a Stephen A Smith fan and I might be in the minority in that regard on this Board. However, the fact that I'm a Stephen A fan doesn't mean I don't recognize that he's a class A bullshitter. He spews BS for attention and entertainment; yet he doesn't lie or totally fabricate things like others in the media do. Listen to his comment about KAT going to the Blazers. Here's a near verbatim quote:
"I just got a text from a very credible source regarding basketball. Karl Anthony Towns and Portland."
That's pretty much all Stephen A said. He never said anything about trade talks involving KAT. He never said anything about KAT being interested in going to Portland, the Wolves being open to trading KAT or even about Portland being interested in pursuing KAT (although of course they would be). He simply referred to a mysterious text mentioning both KAT and Portland. I believe that Stephen A got a text from someone who, in his words, has great credibility when it comes to basketball. But nothing Stephen said indicated any information or informed insight about a possible trade or any interest by any of the parties in such a trade.
Portland would probably love to acquire KAT, but it's not going to happen. The Blazers have nothing to offer in exchange for KAT that would take the Wolves to the next level. In fact, anything they could offer would probably take the Wolves a step back. Moreover, they have nothing to offer that would help the Wolves build long-term around Ant and McDaniels. If the Wolves eventually trade KAT, it will be a year or two down the road for high draft picks and young talent to re-tool around Edwards and McDaniels. It won't be for guys like Nurkic and McCollum. That's beyond ridiculous.
But I still like Stephen A. He brings high entertainment value. :)
