FWIW I don't think Indiana does either. They are going to be an interesting team to watch and see what they do this offseason. They have players they could trade off and still stay somewhat competitive.

I think the Pacers would do that deal in a heartbeat. They aren't competitive right now. They were a lottery team last season and there's no reason to believe they will break into the top 8 next season. The Pacers' moves over the past year have made it pretty clear that they're starting a rebuild with Haliburton as a key piece in that rebuild. Brogdon doesn't fit at all in a rebuild and Myles Turner can't be relied on long term based on his injury history. Getting Vanderbilt, a 1st-round pick and two 2nd-round picks would fit well as part of their rebuild. DLO's expiring contract instead of the Brogdon and Turner multi-year deals would be a coup for a rebuilding team like the Pacers. They could probably deal DLO at the trade deadline for more picks as they continue their rebuild strategy.
So I see it as a great deal for the Pacers, but a bad deal for the Wolves. I don't think Brogdon is better than DLO and I don't trust Myles Turner's health. Meanwhile, the Wolves would lose salary flexibility after next season along with draft picks.

Turner is going into the last year of his contract. Brogdon's deal is still a good one even with injury concerns. I think they could do better in another trade that's why I think they say no unless they really value Vanderbilt which is possible. You do make a good point about them maybe being able to deal Russell for value in season. They could also be the team that resigns Russell to a market value deal and becomes a worthwhile part of their roster going forward. To me if this is the best they can do then we should call and see if we can do just the Beasley for Turner swap. The problem is that the Pacers have a better more expensive type of player in Buddy on their roster. If they can find a team that wants him and they can get some value then it would open up a spot for acquiring Beasley. This is why I cheer for lots of player movement in the league!!! Lol
