CoolBreeze's 2 Things I Didn't Like Tonight Plus 1

That was a lot of fun. I'm happy for a lot of reasons. But most of all for the fans, the true fans, who have stuck with this team through a lot of tough times. It was only one night, but it was a special night. it was only one night, but it was a glimpse of both the past and the future. It was only one night, but we as fans can cheer and feel good about the direction of the franchise.

I'm really excited for guys like Tim and Phenom, who wanted so badly to see KG come back and inspire this team to a win. I have to admit that I enjoyed the game tremendously. I can't wait until the atmosphere is like this for 41 home nights per year. We might just see that sometime soon.

So here is the KG edition of the 2 + 1:

1) As I said in the game thread, the thing I kept thinking was why this couldn't be the start of the year? The last 25 games are going to be fun for us, but I can't even imagine the excitement surrounding next years team. Get the pick right and really come into a season ready to rock. It's a long ways to October.

2) The slow start was a buzzkill. The house was ready to rock and the team just didn't deliver. Yet I was never concerned about the end result. You just had the feel that once we got our bearings things would go our way.

Plus 1 - If you didn't know any better, there is no way you would have thought we were a terrible defensive team. KG made THAT big of a difference. Not just with his play, but with everything else he brings to the team. He simply makes everyone better, I just didn't think it would happen overnight. Some other positives:

- The crowd, must have been fun to be there
- Back Door Wiggins from Rubio. A superstar is rising.
- KMart can score, and if he plays as hard as did tonight I'm glad Flip didn't consider moving him
- Payne is raw for a 24 year old, but that guy has some moxie. I flat out love the way he tears some boards down. Just love a guy that can play with that kind of fire.
- Love how Garnett looks for Wiggins on offense. Those two are going to hook up for quite a bit.

And that's CoolBreeze's 2 things I didn't like tonight Plus 1

Coolbreeze, you told us for the last several years if KG ever comes back to this team you will never cheer for them again. You must have changed your mind!? ;)

Seriously though, good points...and I look forward to the day of this turning into "Coolbreeze's 2 things I liked + 1 thing I didn't" thread sooner than later!

What can I say? It's my team and I'm not going to let one person turn me off. I can cheer for the basketball player, but not necessarily respect the individual. At least I hope I can. It worked tonight :-)

Heck, I was one of those anti trade for kg as I think he has nothing left in the tank. Its one game but he proves that he has something left. Maybe coming back home can bring a 2nd life to him as a valuable role player for 20-24min a night even for just a yr and a half. Just him being there and holding every one accountable makes his team mates play harder. We needed that.

Wiggins, wiggins, wiggins, cant say enough how excited I am for the team because of him. That kid is going to be great.

I want to see us win every possible game from here on. Its going to help the kids to learn to win now. As far as ping pong ball? Im going to make a bold prediction that we get lucky and get a top 3 pick!

Best part about tonight was that we didn't have to watch Anthony Bennett play confused, shitty basketball and get absolutely yelled at to tears by KG like he did to Glen Davis in Boston.

Poor Bennett! Cam has to get his shot in win or lose, playing or not, injured or healthy, rain or shine...

I remember him scolding me for my posts about Rickys poor shooting and how it's gotten old. Yeah his Bennet quips are so much more refreshing.

If only Bennett had KG's mentality...or even Paul Millsap's... Hopefully Bennett can grow, but he's got a long ways to go in every way.

All I can say is Cam better pray that AB doesn't ever make it because if he does in a Wolves uniform it's not gonna be pretty. It's one thing to not think a guy is any good, but it's another to trash him when he is injured and can't play. Don't bitch about us bringing up Thad if you're still gonna trash Bennett at every turn.
