CoolBreeze's 2 Things I Didn't Like Tonight Plus 1

Sorry for you guys who didn't see this one. Way to much fun. I have a lot of things to say on this one. I'll try to give some of you a picture of what happened. Here is tonight's 2 + 1:

1) Just when Pek plays his best game of the year, Gorgui couldn't get it going. I'm a big Gorgui guy, but he really had his struggles tonight. I really want to see him finish the year strong, and he doesn't seem like the type of guy to lose confidence. If he had played somewhat well tonight it would have been a housing.

2) Kevin Martin played a decent game even though he went 0-6 from behind the arc. But I hate it when he gets up 10 more shots than Wiggins, and 5 more than a dominant Pek. Especially when he was so poor behind the 3 point line. I promise you (Khans) I am not a Martin hater. But we don't need him jacking up 21 shots when he is under 45%. Tonight was a night Wiggins could have gotten 30 easily, with Kyle Singler guarding him most of the night. Instead it was the KMart show again. It kept us from being as efficient as we could have been.

Plus 1 - As hard as it was to come up with negatives tonight, I have a ton of positives to cover. Let's do it bullet point style:

- This was a big game for Detroit who still have playoff aspirations. But the Wolves were so much better, and they just flat out looked like a better team. This without Bazz and Ricky. It was just so encouraging to see, and so much fun to watch.

- Forget Andrew's stats tonight, which were good. But he looked like a legitimate star tonight. His confidence is just exploding. When I said he COULD be a top 10-15 player of all time, I wasn't exaggerating. He was cool, he shot well, he drove the basket furiously, he recognized the mismatch when Singler was on him, he rebounded, he was unselfish, he made good passes, he dribbled the ball out of trouble a couple times, and he got to the line. Folks, he is going to be great.

- Thad had a really nice offensive game again. And this was without Ricky in the lineup. He didn't force much and played under control for the most part. Nice job.

- The Detroit announcers were about as fair as you can get. It was a pleasure having them cover the game and gave you a different perspective on some of our guys.

- It's so sad that we can't rely on the big fella to stay healthy. He was unstoppable tonight, and the guys guarding him were no slouches. If we could get 25 minutes out of Pek 75 games per year we would be a playoff contender as soon as next year. He was really impressive tonight.

- AB is starting to show some glimpses of what Flip has in store for us and him. You know what I think his problem is? He is just a really nice guy who isn't an aggressive personality. I hope Flip keeps going to him because I believe we might still have something there. He needs to unleash the beast and he could be a solid rotation guy.

- Same with Zach. I don't care what anybody says about this guy, he can take all the time he wants to develop. But I see a damn good player eventually in him. The Detroit announcers were really impressed and for good reason. Loved the alley oop from Wiggins. We might see a lot of that in the coming years.

- The people on this forum are true fans. You would have to be. I am going to feel really good for all of you as this thing gets cranked up. Not only are we going to be a damn good team finally, but we are going to be the most entertaining team in the league. And you guys deserve it. The only bad thing is going to be the waiting this offseason. Please give us good health so next year can be as much fun as I think it's going to be.

- Chase did not play tonight. We were missing Ricky and Bazz. What does that tell you? He just isn't going to play very much any more. And I think that's one thing we can all be grateful for.

Hopefully I wasn't too giddy about this one. But you heard it here first, the Hawks are in trouble tomorrow night.

And that's CoolBreeze's 2 things I didn't like tonight Plus 1.

Flip has done a hell of a job everything considered. Just think of all the assets Khan had when he took over and Rubio is all that we have to show for it. Flip on the other hand has made some fine lemonade from the lemons he took over!

IMO the ceiling for any of the Love led teams was maybe second round playoff fodder, this Rubio/Wiggins led team has the beginnings of a true contender!

I am going to comment on a few of you points one at a time.

I know it is a long shot but do you think if he does not play the rest of the season he will opt out because of professional pride and he might want to play somewhere he will actually get minutes

I like what I am seeing, I always thought he could become a good rotation player (non-starter) and he is showing signs, I hope he keeps consistent

I'm gonna say $5M will buy a lot of salve for the pride issue so my bet would be one more year of Bud on the bench.

Probably one of the best games I have heard from away announcing crew, big props to them

Would be a dream come true and potentially one of the most delusional moves I could think of from a professional player in a league with guaranteed contracts.

His D has been better, it is still not great but he is playing better in that area, I am hard on Thad just like you, and I get where you are coming from when you get pissed at Cam. If we get this Thad he is a good player/asset for this team IMO

It's possible. He's young enough to think he could get another contract in this league.

I slightly disagree, the only reason I say this is Kmart had a lot of open shots from behind the arc, and I will not be mad if he is taking open shots, I get where you are coming from, but if they are open and he misses I can't be mad he is giving the ball to Wiggins
