Trade - Thaddeus Young

Why he should get moved: What did Thaddeus Young do to deserve this? He went from a tanking Philadelphia team last season to a snake-bitten Minnesota squad that has the worst record in the West after losing three starters to serious injuries. Young is a skilled offensive player who could help a contender with his ability to score inside and out.

Team that needs him: Toronto has the second-best record in the East because of incredible chemistry and camaraderie and its recent slide has coincided with the absence of DeMar DeRozan. But Young could help the perimeter-oriented Raptors generate some easier scores inside and take some pressure off Kyle Lowry, who has had to take on more of the offensive load in addition to his play-making duties.

Other teams that could use him: Portland, San Antonio, Brooklyn

I got a question for you Cam, just curios of your thoughts, if a contending team would offer a 1st for Thad would you do it.

I'm still waiting to watch Thad with Ricky again. I liked what I saw from them in the first four games. Trade deadline is February 19th. I'd like to wait to answer that until I've seen that duo reunited. I haven't given up on him like the majority has.

Well there's not much upside in keeping Young and Williams and I'm not a fan of Young's 10 mil player option next year.

I am also a huge fan of Vasquez.

Thad for Lance Stephenson straight up. Then figure out how to get a PF or C for Martin or Bud and pick Adrien or Radjulica based on what we can get. I'd really want Zeller or Vonleh from Charlotte, but I don't know if we have what it takes to steal one away from them.

Edit: Maybe Thad, Martin and GR3 for Lance, Henderson, 1 of Vonleh or Zeller. We're giving them the two best players in the deal right now in Thad and Martin and taking 2 bad contracts off their hands to get a young big. GR3 is a consolation because we need to match roster spots and he'd be a piece they could take or leave based on his contract.

I have zero interest in Vonleh or Zeller. We already have Bennett. Let's trade for Derrick Williams while we're at it.

So you honestly believe we are better off with 6'8 Thad who has played terrible this year over either of the 7 footers who can have an impact similar to Thad's now with a ton more room for development than Thad could dream of because of his physical limitations? That makes perfect sense for a rebuilding team. You continue to throw players in the garbage with less than 2 years experience under their belt to an amazing degree.
