Greg Monroe was one of the bigs on my list of preferred hardship signings. It feels weird, but Moose is only 31-years old. He's productive when he plays -- at least on the offensive end and on the glass. He's always struggled defensively, but I still like the signing. I'd like to see him play during this 10-day period.

Can't believe he's only 31. Feels like he was relevant 10 years ago and then just faded away.

?Dane Moore:

The Timberwolves will be without 7 players (COVID protocols) for Monday against Boston...?

?Anthony Edwards?
?Taurean Prince?
?Naz Reid?
?D'Angelo Russell?
?Karl-Anthony Towns?
?Jarred Vanderbilt?
?McKinley Wright IV?

?Players the Timberwolves will have available on Monday...?

?Jordan McLaughlin?
?Malik Beasley?
?Jaden McDaniels?
?Jake Layman?
?Nathan Knight?
?Jaylen Nowell?
?Leandro Bolmaro?
?Chris Silva?
?Rayjon Tucker?

?Questionable to return...?
?Patrick Beverley?
?Josh Okogie?

Why are the Wolves even playing this game? Why hasn't the league postponed it? Missing all five starters and a key reserve plus several other rotation options?

Or... alter the protocols for asymptomatic and vaccinated players! Let them play if they want to. Where does the Players Association stand on this?

It won't be postponed because there needs to be less then 8 players to not play

Right, I get how the rule reads, but at what point does the league deem that teams aren't able to compete given the players missing? Either alter the protocols to allow players to return more quickly or postpone more games. That's in the best interest of the decimated teams and the fans who are paying money to see them play.

Well, why not? We have no center available for tonight, so why not Monroe? I've always liked him, and for some reason his career was derailed after his DUI. I suspect he doesn't have much left in the tank, but let's see. I'm sure the Wolves are well aware of the double double he put up against the Iowa Wolves last week off the bench, and maybe they even watched the video Dane Moore posted of Monroe running PnR with old friend Alexey Shved over and over.

Two small rays of hope. Chris Finch said PatBev and JO will play tonight, and he also said there was a lot of ball movement in yesterday's practice. We'll have to see what they look like tonight.

Maybe a team of lesser egos while be willing to pass the ball for the better shot? The game itself is fun to watch when the ball moves around.

Totally agree, D'. I don't give us much of a chance tonight with all starters (except it sounds like PatBev, thank God) out, but if we play hard and move the ball around, it still might be a fun game to watch.

The Celtics did just lose Tatum to covid this morning. So who knows
