For quite some time now there has been dissension in the Timberwolves front office and organization, sources say.

Moving on from Gersson Rosas is not an out of the blue development. In a critical year, with new ownership, the Wolves decided to act now rather than delay.

This is all speculation on my end, but I wonder if Gersson Rosas had a Ben Simmons trade worked out and that wasn't something Glen Taylor wanted to sign off on so they parted ways. Very weird turn of events. I expected Rosas to be on the hot seat this year and to be fired if this team couldn't prove to beat expectations, but this is odd timing to say the least.

I don't know what to say.

I mean, you heard these stories of dissension and low morale and all that, but you figured he'd stay if nothing else as a sacrificial lamb for when Lore/A-Rod step in.


Maybe he was ready to bankroll the entire future on Ben and Glen got cold feet. Maybe the team figured if he goes all in and it blows up, it wouldn't matter to Rosas since he'd be long gone anyway.

I see this as very good news. Even though he still owns the team, I'm pretty sure this wasn't glens idea. I would call this the first big move of new ownership.
