Karl is one guy who should focus solely on playing basketball, and leave the officiating to the referees. His outbursts hurt both him and the team. Maybe it's just me but I don't believe he gets a raw deal from the refs. He gets angry and becomes much more prone to fouling. He needs to learn to channel that anger in a more positive direction. I like the way Giannis plays when he gets angry, by taking it out on the other team. I was hoping this immaturity was mostly behind Towns, but it was especially bad last night.

I see it a little differently although we share the idea that when he gets flustered his play is hindered a bit. I think Karl-Anthony Towns absolutely gets hosed on calls -- both fouls that are called on him and fouls that aren't called on his defender. The main issue as I see it is that Towns argues every call that doesn't go his way instead of the ones that could actually be debated. Fouls happen during games. Own the ones that are obviously your fault and contest the ones that are coin-flips and the ones that should clearly go in your favor. If he did that, I think he'd get significantly more calls his way. The problem with him arguing every damn whistle or no whistle is that the referees tune him out because there's no pleasing him with their calls. It makes the case that he's arguing irrelevant because it's so often. He needs to be more selective with his bitching or just don't bitch at all, which alludes to the point you're making.

Yeah, we both arrive at the same conclusion. The only difference being I don't believe he gets unfairly targeted. I think it seems like he does BECAUSE he complains so much.

Yeah, the offensive foul that he ended up fouling out on was clearly an elbow to the face of Jonas and a very obvious offensive foul. When you complain about everything it's just damn annoying.
