OK, the Nets pulled the extension offer to Irving and trade talk is starting up. In fact, the Wolves are ranked among top 5 spots for Kyrie as per Odds Shark on Twitter:
What team will Kyrie Irving play for after the 2022 NBA trade deadline?
Nets -700
76ers +500
Mavericks +950
Pelicans +950
Timberwolves +1200

I hope anyone but the Wolves. I could care less whether he gets the shot or not. But I don't want him and his wackiness on my basketball team.

He's a weirdo and he got this city going nuts about this. They probably only have the Wolves at +1200 because they figure Russell wouldn't mind being back in BK and Irving would drastically improve us.
It's never gonna happen because KAT won't let it happen, but he's not getting traded, They need him if they wanna win a title and if thought the Wolves were title contenders, I'd feel the same way.
But yeah, he's 5150.

Totally agree with you, Cool.

Deep down I feel like him on the Timberwolves would be a disaster, but I can't help but be blinded by the fact that I find him to be the most aesthetically pleasing player to watch in the NBA since the day he was drafted.

I couldn't agree more, Bloop. Don't want him on my team because I'd be worried he might fall off the end of the flat earth, but he certainly is fun to watch. If you have 5 minutes, enjoy this compilation...he's unguardable by one defender, and doesn't even have much of a problem with double teams. And then consider that he also averages 6 assists and 5 rebounds per game, shoots 40% on threes and 92% from the line, and doesn't turn the ball over very much for a guy who handles it so much, and you have a unique offensive player.

The time to trade for Kyrie Irving was in 2017 when Jimmy Butler was still on Minnesota's roster and before Andrew Wiggins received a max contract extension. He's an elite offensive player that has proven to be a killer in the post-season.
Unfortunately, the appropriate window to acquire Irving has long passed. He's in championship or bust mode and the Wolves are too young and inexperienced to have such lofty expectations at this time. They're still working up to that as they need to make the playoffs first. It's a good thought, but it doesn't work out for either side, I think.

He's a joy to watch play, but Kyrie on any team is a disaster waiting to happen. He's a self-pitying, megalomaniacal conspiracy theorist who justifies whatever ego trip he's on with the language of self-empowerment or social-awareness. I know he's done some good charity work, and I don't doubt his sincerity there, but he seriously can't tell the difference between a legitimate cause and his own attention-seeking desire to rock the boat to draw attention to himself. It's no wonder he's alienated most people he's played with.

"I'm obviously a strong believer in the vaccine," Towns told NJ.com. "I've been through so much and it would be kind of contradictory to not be on the pro-vaccine side. But what I will say is that I believe in choice and I like to give people their choice and I have no problem with people having their choice."
Towns added that he has not yet spoken to Irving about his vaccination status.
"I think that's not only a human right, but it's an American right as well.. ... They make their own decisions on their own bodies and their own families. I have no ill will towards that," Towns continued. "The only thing I would say is just don't give me a (expletive) excuse why [you don't get the vaccine]...You don't want to do it, that's your choice."

I thought this was interesting and deserved to be shared here. I'm not trying to rehash the subject because I think we had a great discussion in the previous thread concerning the topic. I hadn't seen how Karl-Anthony Towns felt about mandates, personal choice, etc. I can agree with his answer here.
