I am bored and saw Wilbon say that Thibodeau has always wanted to coach the Knicks. Sounds like a train wreak waiting to happen, but if he did eventually take that franchise to the playoffs...props to him

It sure seemed like the modern NBA was beginning to pass Thibs by a bit here.

And the Knicks are a trainwreck, obviously.

He'll take whatever franchise that hires him to a greater level of success than what they had prior to his arrival. That's his track record whether people like him or not.

If he can do that with the Knicks he will have plenty of optons.

That may be true, but it doesn't ensure longer term growth or success. I will agree if you give him 10 random guys, he can squeeze a bit extra out of them for "some period" of time, but I don't think his coaching philosophy is sustainable. He had a better time with the Bulls because he had some hard-nosed guys like Noah, Gibson, and Butler. These guys had thick skins. They don't really make 'em like that anymore....

I think Thibs with the right GM and people surrounding him that both share some of his philosophies and also balance him out he could actually be successful And maybe even enjoy himself more. lol It's pretty difficult to find that balance though especially for Thibs. I mean the Rockets and D'Antoni are a pretty good fit but it doesn't seem perfect there and some of that is how Harden plays but still.

I'll be interested to see what the Bulls do with someone fresh in charge for the first time in what seems like quite a while.

I think Dolan and Thibs are a match made in heaven.

They should roll the dice.
