If Towns was on any other team in the league would he be one your least favorite players? The way he acts on the court is cringe worry. He acts like a toddler out there.

If you are a casual NBA fan that doesn't watch a lot of Wolves (they are rarely on national TV) you may not experience the full array of his shifting moods (from faux stoicism to outright whiny petulance to pouting).

I'm really struggling to find a player with a similar profile as him: Elite talent, poor decision maker, martyr/victim-complex.

The closest I can come up with is DeMarcus Cousins. Obviously KAT has been a much more effective player, but there are similarities there.

Q I think you make a good point if we weren't watching so closely I'm not sure we would see all the things Towns does.

The funny thing I kinda like DeMarcus to some extent. It's a comp I've considered a few times throughout the years when it comes to Towns although like you I think Towns is a better player but a lot of that has to do with him being a very good shooter. Cousins also was a technical foul waiting to happen. Heck he has as many as Towns this year and he is a part time player! Lol

In terms of Technicals this is the first time Towns has been in that top 5 of that category. This season that Puts him a couple ahead of his peers in Embiid and Jokic...both of those guys have some legit history of being...whiners about calls and with Embiid he is kind of a weird dude in general and definitely annoying and I've always been a huge fan of his talent. Jokic of course is easier to like because he was a 2nd round pick that's now an MVP who also made a big jump (partly due to getting in better shape). Towns isn't an MVP level player like those guys so that makes it harder to live with the annoying stuff. Draymond is one of the most annoying players in the league. He is also a hell of a player.

If Kat was on a different team I wouldn't hate him. He is a different dude but he isn't a dumb person off the court.

I like Kat the person, I like Kat the player and hopefully he figures out how to eliminate some of the self harming actions.

All I will at Ja and JJJ are super lucky that the series storyline has been about Kat because besides for 1 game they have struggled

LeBron is considered the biggest whiner in the game by the general public. Does LeBron get fouled a fair amount with no calls? Of course. It's hard to officiate his size and athleticism.

Shaq was fouled 50 times a game for the same reason....he was impossible to officiate.

KAT is correct that players are pushing and grabbing on him throughout the game. So is Embid. So is Gobert and Jokic. He's whining because he's not getting calls . . . .sometimes.

That doesn't really bother me and I'd like to see a little more advocacy for him getting held 20 feet from the basket without the ball.

It's the fouls he commits that he whines about that bother me. He hooks, he charges, he makes decisions that lead to easy fouls to call. Those are annoying.

Yeah I agree completely with this. Him not knowing when he is fouling is problemmatic, and shouldn't be linked to his perception of the calls he should be getting. Arguing blatant fouls is not going to help his case at all.

I'll say this....at different times, I've observed fans souring on all three of the best players we've had here: KG, Love and now Towns. I think it's just the byproduct of losing. If we win the title, everyone will love Towns - even if he acts like a baby sometimes. Just win baby.
