The calm before the storm?

1) GDT and other threads are a bit slower. Is this a case of the taxing grind of opining for 82+ games? Or, are posters nervously loading up on foam fingers, pints of booze and game-worn Troy Hudson jerseys before the 2nd most important game in the past 18 years?
2) The Timberwolves have brand-new owners and a very old arena. Those two things never mesh well. Word on the street is that there are already machinations in play for a new arena. How important is it for the Timberwolves to capture (and more importantly grow) the current level of enthusiasm before they embark on the inevitable "give us money for a new arena" push begins?

1) Once the Wolves were all but locked in as a 7th or 8th seed I think most fans just began to embrace the moment of having a chance to make the playoffs, while simultaneously bracing for the emotional roller-coaster nightmare scenario of losing two play-in games or losing the first against LAC, winning the second, and matching up with the Suns in the first round.
2) The fans/city/state do not owe this team anything yet. The Twins, Wild, and Vikings have at least given a semblance of hope and competiveness here and there. The Wolves have been embarrassing forever. Apparently the new owners had to agree to keep the team here, so if that is true then they don't have the leverage that other owners utilize to force the taxpayers to cough up $. I'd like to see the Wolves avoid the play-in and make the playoffs outright for at least the next two seasons before a new arena is even brought up. At that point we will have a far clearer picture of the future of the core three in KAT, Ant, and DLo.

As long as Brooklyn Park is the site of Telosa the Wolves are going to stay. They will have a brand new arena in the city of the future with Marc Lore as king.

Ya this board has been sort of quiet lately. No Cam, FNG, Cool (who announced he was done but saw he was lurking) lately. I saw i have officially passed Long in most career posts (he hasn't posted since '19 but based on the site what is wonky at times he a lurking a couple months ago).
Hopefully this board goes nuts for the playoffs. Came really close to buying tickets for the game but couldn't justify last row in the lower bowl tickets costing 85$ at face value but then the extra 65$ in fees (like Holy shit) to go a game for the 7 seed.

Been trying to make the same decision Kek

I don't post as much anymore but I am constantly monitoring the board. I used to love complaining about our terrible teams but now that there is something to play for I get too stressed out to post!

This board has a fair number of lurkers that don't post much or used to post a lot and don't post as much anymore. But many are like Bloop, whereby they pick up solid information and musings from folks and find that as insightful as reading articles by actual journalists.
So....if you are someone that posts a fair amount (like me!), just because there isn't a response or back and forth doesn't mean there aren't people reading it and taking in the information or opinion.
And for those of you that lurk a bunch and hardly ever post, we would like to hear from you more!

I've been reading but haven't made the time to write as much this season despite watching every game again this year.
Actually, this was the first year one of my kids got into watching a bunch of games with me, so on top of the fact that we had a pretty fun team and won some games, it was a great season for me.
It's weird. We have countless bad seasons and this board is full of game reports and debates and stuff. Then we have a good season and the board was a bit dead. Maybe that says something about us? Are we drawn here more when we're bad? Looking for commiseration, or maybe just blowing off steam?
Whatever the case, I'm really excited. There's a chance we the next two games and don't make it in. That would be a real kick in the nuts. And if we do get in, both the Grizz and the Suns are really good and we'd face an uphill battle, either way. But other than the Jimmy Butler year, it would be the only playoff basketball we've seen since 8 years before my kids were even born. So this is definitely exciting. Nerve-wracking, but exciting.
EDIT: There's a chance we lose the next two games. Totally forgot to type that word. It's like my brain couldn't even process the possibility. See how depressed I'll be if we don't get though the play-in? I'm already in denial and it hasn't even had a chance to happen yet.

Hey low-life lazy lurker losers. Get your act together.
You don't even post during games. And you don't really try... except during the playoffs.
I've noticed you bums pulling that crap ever since Kevin Love was at UCLA. I'm out here busting my buns every night! Tell your old man to drag Camden and Q and Jester up and down the court for 82 games!

I do think there is something to your post. When the wolves are bad, we have constant draft talk pretty much from the All Star break to the draft. This year its been non existence. When we are bad we get to see "new" players play so there is some unknowns and freshness/hot takes on these players like Cam Reynolds and Chris Johnson to name a few.
When we are bad there is consent talk on how we can make the team better, also its also easier to talk about the negative
This year the Wolves have 11 pretty good rotation players. We know the Wolves are a good team but not a title contender and to take the next step is young guys like Ant and McDaniels taking the next step. Not like years past where they need find the guy.
This year has been so much fun! But in terms of a message board its easier to talk about the negative
