Luka is really good.
It looks so effortless for him. Only 23 years old!

He is an incredible player, no doubt. It's just hard to see Dallas winning a title with a guy that carries a 40% usage rate. The road to a title is too long for someone to have that kind of work rate and not at some point get tired legs and/or schemed to get the ball out of his hands and then there isn't a second guy good enough to help relieve the pressure.

He's got some shooters around him. And he really determines pace of play and he wills his brand of play on everyone else. They play a slower brand of ball so I don't know if he'll deal with tired legs. It's not like he depends on all world athleticism to be at his best like Morant does.

Bill would have been given to much more hyperbole. Something like, "Luka is the best player in the history of the NBA, I'm flummoxed as to why he isn't in the hall of fame already"

I get it, but Golden State (thanks in large part to Andrew Wiggins) finally got to him in last year's playoffs and his percentages dropped off in that series. I just think a team can eventually solve for him in a 6 or 7-game series, and then what? The drop off from him to their next most talented guy is huge.

He's plenty young, Dallas will have to find a number 2 to pair with him. Do I think they'll win this year? No. But they have years to figure out the right combination of players to put with him. And Cuban won't be afraid to write the checks.

I believe Bill Walton believes in Luka as much as he did in Boris Diaw. Still one of my favorite clips of all time.
