Back already Kek, LOL!

I remember Tom Crean talking about how Ant the prospect had work to do when it came to diet. It sounds like he hasn't quite fixed that side of things.

I think now that we have 3rd year Ant, the innocence and effervescence is starting to wear off. Given his level of talent, he has to start being more of a tone setter.

KAT has his own glaring flaws, but I'll say it again....His version of a bad game is still a hell of a lot better than Ant's version.

This was to good not to post.

It's just weird overall. Ant talk about all offseason he is on a strict diet. Jester reports that Kat and Ant get into it in the tunnel.

Kat publicly bashes Ant 4 games in.

There has been 0 joy to this team so far.

I'm not a big doing overreact guy but all signs point that team hates each other.

KAT also can't be traded this year because of the extension. So this is the team assuming Ant is untouchable

But look at the bright side the wolves are but the only team with issues.

Jalen Green and Jabari Smith got into it in the bench last night

Ha, and don't forget that the Brooklyn Nets were on the verge of a complete implosion this offseason, yet here they are all playing together with Nash still at the helm. We'll see how long that lasts though!

Then there are the Celtics from last year. 47 games into the season, they were a massively disappointing 23-24 and that's without any major injuries. Then they go on an epic run to end the regular season and battle their way to the Finals.

I'm not suggesting our Wolves will pull off the same sort of thing, but we're 2-2 with some infighting. It's not the end of the world.

Kat calling out Ant as Fat Tony. Never underestimate the Wolves ability to create drama. I actually think Ant may be the kind of guy that responds well to being called out. I'd bet the over on his individual props for their next game.

As I said in another thread, my wife told me emphatically that Ant's 10-point weight gain was not all or even mostly muscle. I had the same impression independently. He's also hasn't looked as quick or explosive as he looked last season. Of course, Ant is accountable in the end, but I hold our organization accountable. We love to talk about the Miami Heat's "winning culture." What does that really entail? It's really not mysterious. For one thing, Pat Riley's organization wouldn't allow a player like Edwards to put on 10 pounds. They wouldn't allow him to continue eating the things we know Ant loves to eat. Pat Riley is famous for expecting his players to be in extremely fit. It's about attention to detail and setting a tone of toughness and high expectations more than it is being nice and building relationships with players.

This team can still get it's act together and have a good season, maybe finishing in the 5-7 range. But the situation is teetering on the edge of a debacle that ends in a lottery finish - to the delight of all Utah Jazz fans. As yo noted, KAT can't be traded this season. And I can't see the team trading Ant. If the Wolves are still a mess in December, then the front office will have to do something and they'll face a tough choice. Do they trade a lot of their young talent (Nowell, JMac, Naz Reid, Moore, Minott and/or even McDaniels) for a win-now vet or two in a last ditch effort to belatedly right the ship? Or do they start planning for another rebuild/retool around Ant after the season when they might trade either KAT or Gobert (maybe both), for young players and picks. Of course, the Wolves aren't going to get more than 1 couple protected first-round picks for Gobert. KAT's the guy who would bring in the most assets by far.

After the Gobert trade, KAT said "it's championship or bust." That comment was only slightly hyperbolic. In any event, we're far from the "bust" stage. But there's a lot wrong with this team that needs fixing over the next month. If those things aren't fixed, then we'll be talking about plan B or C, either of which would be pretty depressing.

I don't disagree with you really. I well say though that the wolves would be in the play in still if the playoffs started today (so silly of me saying that statement 4 games in). Nuggets would just be out of the playoffs.

I trust Chris Finch, I trust the talent of Ant, Kat, Gobert to figure it out.

On to the next one

Kek, That's a balanced outlook on things. That 12 hour break from the team and board did you wonders! :)
