Implanting the "Heart of a Champion"?!? :)

Kidding aside, it is a solid move.

He turned 72 last month. For some reason I thought he was older. Having a legit NBA legend as a part of the organization is a pretty solid move. I've always thought being a consultant would be an awesome gig. :)

I'll be honest. I thought he was dead.

Hmm...Rudy T was always one of my favorites, but this is a peculiar hiring. He's 72 and has been out of basketball for over 15 years...not sure how much value he is going to bring to the "player personal consultant" role. Anyway, probably not a big deal either way.

I don't recommend anyone going back and watching the punch he got from Kermit Washington. Doctors say it was a near miracle he survived it.

Absolutely. NBA 'consulting' would be great. Big 4 consulting? Not so great.

So you have experience consulting? Tell me more. :)

Only for a crappy firm. But friends who work for those places talk about working non stop and a brutal travel schedule. Maybe some others here can talk more about it.

Last time the Wolves had any success it was in part becuz of a Houston connection . ( Sam Cassell)
Before anyone gets after me, aren't we all grasping at straws on this board? Lol

I've seen the punch many times. Kermit is currently serving 6 years without parole for defrauding his own charity. He used to be a talk show host here in Portland and seemed like a genuinely good guy. But according to Michael Thompson he was definitely someone you feared while he was in the league.
