CoolBreeze's 2 Things I didn't Like Plus 1 - Training Camp Edition

Players coming, players going, trade chatter, draft picks, the pandemic - yes this offseason has been eventful, but maybe not as much as we would have thought for the Wolves. But here we are on the cusp of another training camp and season. I thought it was time for this 2 +1:
1) Months of rumors, speculation and predictions all ended with the home team selecting Anthony Edwards. In a normal year Edwards would have been considered a good prospect with tremendous upside. The type of guy you take a chance on in the top ten. He may turn out to be a star, a starter, or a journeyman. Who knows? It would be nice if the Mayo clinic surgeons could implant Dwayne Wade's heart, instincts, and motor into him. As I see it Rosas made two mistakes with the pick. First, if there ever was a time to trade the number one pick, this was it. We already have two good players with dubious maturity levels. Adding Edwards to this mix seems combustible to me. What we needed was to trade the pick for someone established who could come in NBA ready to serve as the glue for KAT and DLO. Someone around the same age who's entering their prime. Not making a trade was the biggest disappointment to me. The second mistake Rosas made was not drafting Wiseman if he was going to keep the pick. This was obvious to most of us. Golden State is thrilled. In fact the draft pick we traded them in the Wiggins deal coupled with handing them Wiseman takes on some Herschellian characteristics. I don't even want to think about these moves 5 years from now.
2) So at this point Rosas has spent most of our assets while making a ton of moves. He has shaped the team the way he prefers to play. How we improve from here is beyond me. I hate to say it but I don't see us making the playoffs for the next 3 years. Actual contending is a pipe dream. I believe at some point KAT will be the centerpiece of a trade that starts us on our next GM and associated rebuild. Geez, we've never seen that before. Maybe Sid can pull some strings with the man upstairs and deliver some hope for us. I'm sure Lip would agree, sports is the best reality show there is and anything can happen.
Plus 1 - First I want to thank all of you who follow the college prospects much more closely than I do. Especially this year when there wasn't much of a college season. Your insights helped a great deal leading up to the draft. Additionally I'm looking forward to seeing how this collection of parts comes together. If nothing else it will make for an interesting start to the season. Maybe Edwards shocks the world and brings it like a true #1 pick. Stranger things have happened, and much further down the draft board. Again, it's sports and there will be plenty of surprises this year. GO Wolves
And that is the camp edition of the 2 + 1
