I hope we say no. 41% career shooter and only 35% from 3 with one really good shooting year and two bad ones. And he did something that got Portis so riled up he punched him in the face. Dieng's a better player so bad trade.

It's the Bulls so who knows but I have no idea why they would be trading for another center.

Remember when Mirotic was a key chip in the Kevin Love sweepstakes...

I personally disagree, much rather have Mirotic. He's a better shooter despite his numbers, more versitile offensively and on much better contract. I will say I've never been overly impresses watching him. But I think Dieng is so limited and he and Gibson's games mirror each other's so much.

Dieng/Aldrich for Lopez/Mirotec.

Yes, it does add to an already large (wow) payroll. But Mirotec could be an expiring if his T/O is declined, and Lopez expires June '19. They're the two best players in the trade with the two best contracts. I know it's an "outside" league right now, but Kat/Lopez/Mirotec/Gibson? Wow. Maybe the OKC first for a bunch of 2nd's.

If the Bulls decide to move Portis instead, I say walk away. He's not great, and he's only a PF and can't play C.

Instead of trading for Mirotic why not just play Belly a lot more? Thier games would overlap a lot and I think with Belly being a RFA next summer we can likely keep him at a fairly reasonable number.

Another thing to consider is Mirotic has value not only as a player but next year whoever has him it's a team option. That could have a lot of value. IMHO (it's the Bulls but still) they aren't going to dump him for just whatever. They will wait for something fairly good. How much longer do they have to wait before they can deal him anyway? December January? Plus he has to want to waive his no trade to go to that team. He might be excited to get away from the Bulls but maybe not desperate to go anywhere. He certainly makes sense as a guy to move for them (Markkanen has already looked good enough) so I would be a little surprised if he wasn't made available.
