It sounds like they two sides are close to an agreement and a 2017 lockout will be averted...good news! I haven't read too much yet, but I have heard about a couple changes:
1) Scheduling: The season will start a week earlier, and there will be no more instances of 4 games in 5 nights...that will make the players happy.
2) Kevin Love no-pout rule: Teams will be able to have 2 5-year max players now rather than 1...this is very good news for the Wolves.
Anybody aware of anything else significant?

Salaries are going up across the board. The absolute min salary is like $788,000 and the average salary will be like 10 million.

Good summary of the new CBA in this podcast.

The "Kevin Love" Rule allows 2 designated players per team, allowing teams to keep their drafted stars. Boy does that help the Wolves going forward. It will help us toss a bad contract to an overrated player while still signing our 2 young Pups....wait, we aren't doing that anymore right?
KAT pretty much owns one of those 2 contracts...So what are the odds that LaVine plays his way into that spot...or will it be Wiggins playing his way out?
Oh to be a 7' guy that can play a little D...your contract just keeps getting sweeter every year. The minimum salary goes up and the average goes up as well.
I actually think both sides did OK with this. There is so much money to go around that it is easier to just agree!

If I had to bet, I'd say that Towns and LaVine are our five-year max players. The one (only) good thing about Wiggins being more of a beta instead of an alpha is that *maybe* he'll be less problematic in contract demands. Make no mistake about it, he'll get his, but I don't think his mild ego will allow him to make a stink about not being one of the designated players. Money changes things, but that's my read on it right now.

Not being Alpha doesn't mean not being a pouty little bitch, not that I'm calling Wiggins a pouty little bitch.
If things continue on their current course then I could easily see LaVine as the second FYM player but I honestly feel as though he's the more team oriented of the big three and would be less put off not getting that 5th year. And yes, that's one hell of an assumption to make given my only knowledge is watching the guys play BB on tv!!

Ehh, I could see LaVine taking that as a challenge, to be honest. That guy seems so driven to be great that he could channel his inner James Harden and decide to go try and be an alpha elsewhere. Granted, we're a ways away from any of this, but I hope we're not playing with fire when the time comes.

It's early in the process but it's pretty clear to me that right now Lavine and Wiggins are pals or whatever. Regardless for this thing to work the young 3 are going to have to be willing to work with each other not only on the court but in a variety of ways off the court. It may not be significant but Dieng was the first guy of this build to get paid and he could have tried to get more money and didn't. Hopefully these guys all want to be here and all that but it seems like some stuff changes quickly. Only time will tell and these guys are still so young.

I don't get why they keep capping tools small markets need to stay competitive. Why 2? Make it unlimited to give your team the advantage to retain a player. I know the league benefits more from player movement from an interest perspective, but they should be giving teams every tool possible to put the best deal on the table and let a guy lose out if they leave. Now we're right back to the Love situation where we have one more guy who might get the designation than we have designations.

Here we are discussing having a dilemma of choosing 2 of 3 max contract guys...
And yet the team is on pace for a top 5 draft pick... again.
The team has won 52 games... TOTAL with them on the team. Conversely, just for perspective... Golden State has won 194 games during that same time frame.
