For a player to be on a teams playoff roster they need to be on roster by March 1st.

So Turner needs to be bought out tomorrow.

*Turner can always be waived, but Taylor will be paying the lux tax then and will he be willing to go more into the lux tax to sign JMAC or Martin (I hope so)

Do they have to be on the roster by midnight on March 1st, or midnight February 29th? If the former then it's 72 hours! :D

The question is if Evan Turner wants to lose some money to get bought out? He isn't healthy this season. I dont see a contender or a playoff team signing him. We do it for the roster spot, but whats in it for turner? It happens if we pay him his full salary in the buyout.

The Celtics were rumored to be interested in Turner should he be bought out. I could see the Lakers having interest too. This needs to happen soon because there's no use in having him on the payroll.

I don't think there are a lot of teams dying to get him but a pretty big wing that can basically play PG that's also I believe at least average defensively has some value. Yeah he can't shoot 3's but not every team needs that. Obviously the Wolves are hoping he takes a pay cut in a buyout to save some money especially in luxury tax. Turner is just waiting to see if he has a landing spot before doing so. I'd assume there has been a bunch of players waived etc the last couple weeks so it will have taken some time to work itself out. Hopefully for financial sake Turner finds a spot...it would be good for Turner too. Regardless he won't be on the roster much longer and my guess is that McLaughlin will be signed to a deal before the season is over but they may wait as long as they can to save lux tax money.
