As we all know, the Bulls traded Derrick Rose, Justin Holiday and a 2017 2nd round pick to the Knicks for Jose Calderon, Jerian Grant and Robin Lopez. Who got the best of this deal?

I see this one as a draw.
The Bulls have clearly decided to rebuild or at least significantly retool. The uncertainty surrounding Rose just didn't fit with that longer-term strategy. Grant and Lopez and two younger players who can be part of that rebuilding or retooling effort although neither is a budding or potential allstar. Grant has nice upside though.
The Knicks have a shorter-term strategy than the Bulls. They have Melo still at or near the top of his game but already in his early 30s. And they have a young potential star in Porz. So the Knicks took a bit of a gamble, but not a big one. Rose is still young. The question is whether his history of traumatic injuries is just history. If so, there's definitely a reasonable chance he can return to being an all-star caliber player even if he doesn't get to his former superstar level. As an all-star caliber PG playing with Melo and Porz, the Knicks become a playoff team and potential contender in the East. Adding Rose might also make the Knicks more attractive to free agents this summer. If they land a big time free agent -- Horford, Howard, etc., then they might even become a legitimate challenger to the Cavs. But a lot of ifs -- which is why I still call this one a draw.

I don't see this move significant for either team. Rose isn't good any more and Grant is maybe a good backup in the league, Calderon is almost unplayable and Lopez is a nice role player but he's not pushing any needles.

The deal is a sign that Chicago has embraced the reality that it's time to rebuild. For NY I think a healthy Rose makes them a true contender to go deep into the playoffs... with no chance of actually making it to the finals, much less winning it all.
In the end it's a big yawn for me.

I went with the Bulls getting the best end of the deal because it was more accurate of how I saw the trade. How I would word my vote was the Bulls got the best end of tensest because they moved on like they should and they got something of value back in Looez and some guys that could have some value replacing Rose in Calderon and Grant.
Is acquiring Rose a worthwhile gamble for the Knicks? After a few days thinking about it. Sure. If they can get another center to sign there to replace Lopez suddenly their starting lineup looks pretty interesting especially if Rose can just keep from getting hurt again. He may not be a really good player but he doesn't suck (if he can play) and there is a chance he returns to being something more than just a starting PG.

I think it was an extremely fair trade. The Bulls got some decent role players. The Knicks got a low risk high reward reclamation project. Not an overpay by either side.
I see the Knicks making a player for Howard and having a big named, older, big three. It will be good for the middle of the pack in the East and out in the second round in the playoffs.

Right now I think the Bulls got the much better end of the trade. The only way the Knicks win this trade is if Rose regains his pre-injury form, but I don't think it's likely. He's suffered setback after setback at this point, hasn't looked like the old Rose at all, and there's a very real reason to question is commitment to the game with all of his previous comments a couple years ago. Worst of all, he is set to make $25 mil.
For the Knicks it's a complete hail mary. Meanwhile, the Bulls actually got some useful players out of the deal.
