The Brooklyn Nets have traded Thaddeus Young to the Indiana Pacers for the 20th overall pick and a future second rounder.
The Nets re-signed Young last offseason on a four-year, $50 million deal.
The Pacers previously acquired Jeff Teague this week.
Indiana parted ways with Frank Vogel this offseason and elevated Nate McMillan to head coach. The Pacers now project to have a starting five of Teague, Monta Ellis, Paul George, Young and Myles Turner.

Ellis is moving next, right?
Otherwise, that's a pretty small backcourt. Hill was a pretty strong defender who was fairly versatile defensively.
[Note: I know the contract was an issue at the time... but are we all still super happy the Wolves traded Young for 98 minutes of Kevin Garnett?]

Seems like a good deals for both teams. Nets need to get younger and Pacers get a nice player in his prime.

I know Bird wanted to create a more uptempo, offensive-oriented team, and it appears they are doing just that.....Not sure it will move the needle a bunch, but you never know in the East.

The Brooklyn Nets essentially turned 38-year old Kevin Garnett into the No. 20 overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and a future second-rounder. Good for them.

Yep. That is the good stuff. All the other stuff that's primed the franchise toward a 70-loss season WITHOUT a #1 pick... not so good.

Let's see what Sean Marks can do. The bar is pretty low it won't be hard for him to seem good but it's not going to be easy for him to succeed the way that franchise was run before he got there.

Philadelphia got a 1st-rounder for Thad Young.
Brooklyn got a 1st-rounder for Thad Young.
Flip Saunders got 38-year old KG for Thad Young.
Hmmm...

I'll tell you what. Thad Young being our 6th man super-sub backup PF would look just fine by me on our current roster. We could use a small-ball 4 with some solid skills.
