The Kat problem

He has taken his game to the next level averaging 28/14/5/4 blks /1 stl in the last 6. The problem is if he makes all NBA he gets and extra 32 mil in his contract. It's a weird problem because we need him to keep this up to make the playoffs but it could hurt in the long run. Also Kat could stat hunt to try and get in.

Kat is the most stat aware player I've seen in a Wolves uni.

If we don't make the playoffs he's not getting it so I'm not worried. AD and Embiid will lock down two spots and I don't know how Jokic doesn't get the 3rd spot if he's a top 4 team in the West.

It's kind of a good problem in a way. If he makes the team that probably means he was pretty good. If not it saves some money. Also just because he makes 3rd all NBA doesn't mean he gets that whole extra money. It depends on what was negotiated. Maybe he only makes an extra 15 total million for 3rd team all NBA. Nobody knows. Towns has plenty of competition for those center spots. Capela is another guy that could get one. He is putting up 17-13 right now and the Rockets are rolling again.

Lol. The Wolves have an assortment of problems. But this isn't one of them. KAT is playing as well as any big in the League right now and that's a good thing. The Wolves need a lot more problems like that. :)

Anthony Davis, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Nikola Jokic. I don't see how Joel Embiid gets that nod over him.

If you listen to National "experts" nearly all of them put Embiid over KAT.

I get what everyone is saying. I would rather have this problem then any other problem but that is an average of 6 mil a year more if he makes All NBA. That's 6 million more into the lux tax. That is a MLE guy salary. It gets KAT closer to a super max on his 2nd contract and will KAT be "that" guy or will he be like Wall who is super damn good but to retain him it cripples the franchise.

Once again super small thing but it has impact. Especially when he is already signed and KAT in the past I believe he has stat hunted and when 32 mil is on the table he might do the same at the detriment of the team
