Widen the court 2.5 feet. Push the 3 point line further back 1 foot all the way around. More space, bring down the 3 point percentage a bit, open up more mid range shots and post play which is sort of extinct.

Most arenas could do this fairly easily by eliminating a row. Sure they lose some seats, but the game would be much better all around.

The league is outgrowing the dimensions of the court. And I agree, it is going to be a problem. I go along with widening the court. One wacky idea I have is make another arc starting at the hash mark and following the same path as the 3 point line. Make it a 4 point shot. That would be fun.

I think the NBA is fine for the most part. Only thing that upsets me is how posts get officiated compared to wing players.

I remember a grantland article long ago where they should let the home team decide the 3 pt line. So the grit and grind Grizzlies would have the 3 pt arc by half court. Warriors would have maybe a tad bit deeper so they would kill opponents. Goofy idea but it was a fun read

That's my point in that the players have outgrown the court. Players are more athletic and better shooters now then ever. More space and toughening up the 3 would help bring some more balance into it. Teams figured out the long 2 is dead. So we essentially have a 3 point contest with layups and dunks.

I guess a 4 point line wouldn't be a bad idea either. Sort of the same concept in that the space is too small. I think you can bring back more midrange game though by pushing the 3 back a bit. Just making it a little tougher and then with the larger court more room to operate in the midrange game and post.

Of course the sport is doing fine, but they could be doing even better. Football is dying with people realizing that repeated concussions can kill you at 45. It's just not worth playing. Basketball will continue to grow as the NFL fades away.

A true hard cap and the removal off the max salary.

Get rid of the salary cap and the max contract restrictions. Major League Baseball has it right in that regard. I also think that a franchise tag in the NBA would be a good idea.

I know it's the conservative in me but why do we have to go around changing everything theses days. If players were coached to give a shit about defense it would go along ways.

The two sports that seem to be the most competitive are NFL and NHL, and they both have hard caps.

They should have a rule regarding max contracts, and players taking less money. Once you take less, you can't go back up. That would help stop guys like Durant from cheating the spirit of the rules. I don't see how the NBPA can argue for more money when players continue to take less than they are worth. Maybe they should have a bidding war amongst teams for FA's.

Durant pretty much took the max. Wasn't like he took this significant pay cut. If you want to blame someone for what Durant did blame the player association for having just one huge bump in the cap instead steadily increasing
