Juancho Hernagomez dislocated his shoulder grade 4/5. Usually requires surgery and a 6 month timetable.

There goes any trade value and puts a huge hole for the Wolves at PF.

Wolves are cursed

A lot of cursed teams with all the injuries this season. Or how about the Warriors? Klay goes down with one terrible injury and then goes down again with another injury just as he was coming back from the prior one.

Truth is, Juancho's injury leaves a small while at PF. Unfortunately, his contract takes an unduly large portion of the Wolves payroll. And as you observed, any trade value he might have had has just disappeared. I'm concerned about Ant's ankle. It really sucked to see him limping yesterday.

My main concern with Juancho's injury is the risk that it will make Rosas even more desperate to make a deal for a PF and that he'll give up too much. He's also shown a tendency to get taken in deals.

It just sucks. Once again I don't think Hernangomez is great but he was in our 10 man rotation and played a position of need and he is a solid backup 4. Big loss actually

Even though he's a completely different player, it probably makes re-signing Vanderbilt even more important.

It also means there is a pretty big opportunity available at PF. There will be PFs and their agents seeing a good landing spot in MN with another player out that could get minutes at that spot. I'm not talking big time FAs but guys that are looking at getting an opportunity to get another contract.

If he is still on the roster this opens up an opportunity for Jake Laymen to get some minutes. That's not a great option but he is a decent basketball player.

Ultimately I don't think Juancho's injury will make any significant change to the offseason. Hopefully there are no other injuries that force guys to miss time.

Laymen is another guy on our roster that is a 3-point shot away from being an $8-12M per year type player. He is so good at moving without the ball and is actually not a horrible defender. But like half our roster, he can't hit the 3 consistently enough to be of much use beyond a replacement-level type backup.

I know we're not pinning our hopes on Juancho, but it was still good to hear some positive news about his shoulder. It sounds like the injury was nor nearly as serious as first thought, and that he will be playing in Japan after all.

That is actually huge. Hernangomez isn't amazing but he doesn't suck and his expiring gets a tad better. Happy with this news

We've managed to sign more than 10 free agents?!
