Hubie is 87 and Marv is 80 and both are still going strong. Impressive - good for them.

Agreed. I almost wish I had Hubie's energy now much less whenever I get to that age...if I even make it at all.

It's been tough not having the greatest of all time, Doc Emrick on the hockey telecasts this postseason. What a treasure he was.

Is Marv Albert the greatest scandal survivor of all time? I thought his career was over when details of his sexual assault and fondness for biting women, threesomes and trannies were revealed 20 years ago...not a good profile combined with that ridiculous toupee. But somehow he rose above it, and is still going strong 20 years later. Great voice, not so great man.

Pretty amazing career for Marv, didn't know tonight was it for him.
I still think Verne Lundquist takes the cake for me in terms of making iconic calls, where he happened to be the guy on the mic during huge moments in a variety of sports.

Vin Scully for me. Even in the movie for love the game his calls give me chills.

I'll take Jack Buck...and not just because he said he would "see you tomorrow night" as Kirby's homer practically landed in my lap in left center. Love Scully too.

Lunquist:
- Nicklaus's winding birdie putt that helped him win his last green jacket
- Laettner's last second shot in the Final Four to beat Kentucky
- Woods' chip-in on #16 that trickled down to the hole, briefly stopped, then went in.
- Auburn's Iron Bowl win on an Alabama missed field goal that they ran back to the other end to win the game.
I'm sure that's not everything, but right there you've got four iconic calls made in three different sports (two at the Masters).
