So I'm debating in my own head if I should actually feel kind of sorry for this guy. I mean he is truly a shell. His outside shot is embarrassing and he literally trips himself up at times going to the hoop. He is taking a TON of crap this year from fans and I thought PBev and KAT were downright disrespectful.
Jon K seemed to indicate in his twitter feed that Westbrook kinda had this coming to him after years of giving shit to other teams and players. Was he a big trash-talker and troller? Please tell me he was so I can feel better about tonight!

Yes huge shit talker.
Pat Bev says it on JJ Reddick Podcast but Pat Bev believes Westbrook cost him millions saying "Beverly got you tricked all he does is run around and you think he is actually doing something". Pat Bev said the narrative changed that night about 5 years ago from the national perspective on Pat Bev. Pat said the next game he was bad defensively so it played into that narrative and for the next month teams tried to attack him more than any other time in his career.
He legit believes he cost him money in his career because of his comments. That is why they were clowning him tonight

Yeah, he's always been a shit-talker on the floor during games, especially when he was still with the Thunder. How many times did we see him roasting the Wolves bench in the past? He's just getting his own medicine at this point. Also hard to feel too bad for him considering he's a top-75 player of all-time, sure Hall of Famer, former MVP, and he's making $40-million annually in player salary. Seems like he'll be okay, but he should absolutely take these L's.

Russell Westbrook after the game said no one on the Timberwolves has done anything in the league to make him care about their trash-talk.

And yet they lost by 20 tonight with arguably the greatest player of all-time on the roster and the great Russell Westbrook. Weird.

Beverly is gonna do what he does. Towns...yeah I thought it was a bit much but you know what I kinda like Towns maybe not just being a nice guy and he was having some fun.
As for Westbrook I both like him and dislike him at the same time. Part of what makes him great makes him an easy target too. Dude doesn't seem to give a shit about what most people think he is gonna do his thing. Like Cam laid out the guy was a very good player and making plenty of money so I don't feel too bad for him but I also think I've seen him being given a lot of the blame for this Lakers struggles. I think it is some of his fault but I think there is a lot to go around. So far that acquisition which was a gamble has not worked out.
I was thinking the other day how Durant and Harden were drafted on the same team and now have each played for 3 franchises. Those 2 guys are 2 of the best offensive players of my lifetime. Westbrook was a hell of a player too. The Lakers are his 4th team. That's all just kinda wild.

I have always enjoyed watching Westbrook play. You can count on 110% effort everyday. But everyone knew his playstyle would come to an end abruptly.
The Lakers gutting their depth for him, giving up another 1st, and now handcuffed to his player option or giving up more assets in future drafts to move him was beyond stupid.
He never made sense around LeBron, they would be in a much better situation if they stood pat.

It needs to be said. Russell Westbrook gets far too much credit for his effort in games. It came and went even when he was in his prime. He should be applauded for being able to turn it on when he needed it, but he rarely played with 100-percent effort.

Yep. And sure nobody plays hard all the time not even the Okogie/Brewer Vanderbilt players but Westbrook would take plays off on D etc plenty when it actually mattered. That clip of him in the Lakers game watching Beverly steal that rebound from Melo and score isn't completely new. I'll also say that even if he padded his stats some the guy balled out a ton over the years.
