I did a quick calculation, but it looks like the Wolves total payroll will be about $120.5 million with the following players and the Aldrich stretch:

1. Wiggins
2. KAT
3. Teague
4. Gorgui
5. RoCo
6. Okogie
7. Culver
8. Vonleh
9. Bell
10. Dipo
11. Napier
12. Graham.

That's 12 roster players for a total payroll of around $120.5 million, which would leave Wolves about $12 million under the luxury tax threshold. Add in Tyus Jones at $5 million and the Wolves would have 13 roster players with around $7 million left to spend on one more player to fill the final 14th roster spot without exceeding the luxury tax threshold. That's essentially the remaining portion of the MLE after subtracting Vonleh's salary.

Question: Who among the remaining free agents should the Wolves pursue with some or all of their remaining $7 million in luxury tax space?

I'd be open to not spending a chunk of the MLE and leaving room under the luxury tax in case there are some trades that come up that may make sense. I don't know who is reasonably available but if Tyus comes back we have a pretty full roster of guys with some level of worthiness to play minutes or at least get an opportunity. I'm curious who people put forth as options of who is now available.

We definitely need another PG. We went through all 5 of them last year. They better get Tyus for 5 or less if that's the plan. Will be interesting to see what they can do moving forward. We're looking lottery bound barring a miracle improvement from within our roster.

I agree, Monster. Sign another minimum salary player to fill the final (14th) roster spot and start the season around $5.5 million under the luxury tax. That makes the most sense, leaving room for other maneuvers during the season as you suggested. The Wolves should absolutely avoid signing a player at $5-7 million per year for more than one season. It's important not to tie up more cap space beyond this season for what would likely be a mediocre player.

Adding Layman today makes me wonder what they are gonna do next but they do still have all the mid-level they can use if they want to it's just the lux tax line to worry about.

One other cap note Albert Nahmad on Twitter laid out all the moves the Nets did/will do to get Durant Kyrie and Jordon. One thing that he said had to happen was guaranteeing Graham and Napier their salaries. There was 2 reasons for that...it was complicated (and according to him genius movement by the Nets) but that would be the reason why the Wolves got paid for taking them. It's actually interesting stuff I you want to read it.

Dipo, Diop, it's all the same!

(Dipo would solve a LOT of what ails us!)

I swear, I could not figure out Dipo... All I could come up with was Victor, or some new nickname for Nowell, who happens to be missing from the list.
