Towns being "monitored"

I am reading click bait that a "frustrated" Towns is being monitored by Golden State and the Knicks, followed by trade scenarios.
I am paranoid about Kat because we have sucked for so long. Any credence to KAT wanting out?

PS. HAPPY NEW YEAR

Big markets are gonna leak this kind of stuff until he's gone. For what it's worth they mentioned on the mismatch podcast that none of the info came from people around Towns.

Ya Kat might be unhappy. We are losing but more than likely it's media members that want Kat out of Minnesota to a bigger market.

I mean yesterday first take did a whole segment on "should Giannis leave Milwaukee if they don't win the title this year?" It was all Stephen A Smith and Max saying yes he should and he should try and go to LA, NY or GS

Of course there is credence to this. We placated KAT and got rid of Jimmy, now he's being reminded that he cant win without another all-star and he wants out. The whole world is telling him to leave. The media will make this so. Better players on better teams have become disgruntled and left. I dont give KAT until the trade deadline next year unless we are a top 4 seed.

My sources said the big reason Towns wasn't happy was that there was this great little Vietnamese place that closed and Towns who frequented it for some late night food was really bummed out about it. So Rosas and Glen got together some investors and quickly bought the place and was going to install the previous owners etc to run it but it didn't really work out. I guess now it's just going to end up being the site of a new Chick-fil-A.

KG leaving for the Lakers, Rubio leaving for the Knicks, now KAT leaving.. Sorry, this is just a manufactured "story" to generate clickbait.

Can someone please tell me why everywhere I read it says that towns is on a 5 year 190 mil contract? I'm pretty sure he missed the Supermax when he missed the all nba teams last year right? Isn't his contact in the range of 150 mil?

Yes. Clickbait.

AND... the Warriors have nothing to lose by leaking the info to its beat reporter. By reporting on it, a guy like Strauss keeps (or gets back in) good graces with those within the Warriors organization.

It's a win-win for the team and reporter. And as we know with this social media monoculture we live in... it's highly effective. It effectively normalizes nonsense, half-truths, non-contextual takes, lies and more.

From politics to sports, it's everywhere.

Don't believe anything you read and only half of what you see. As with this obviously made up story from the OP. It's either click bait or propaganda. Many times both.

Sports is about the only legitimate news there is.
