Glen said he expects to be the owner this time next year.
I've ment to post this awhile ago but Strauss came to Minnesota to talk to Glen about buying the team. He bright lawyers obviously. Glen didn't like that and refuses to sell the team to him now

You're making a billion dollar+ transaction, why the hell would you get upset over lawyers being involved!?
Good Lord Glen

Especially when a contingency is to keep them in MN.
I guess he thought it would make it more difficult for an under the table handshake deal, and a wink-wink promise that he will honor his word and not move the franchise.

Ya, Wolfson talked about it about 2 1/2 weeks ago. That Strauss came here with lawyers and it turned Glen off. Also mentioned a big sports figure who company just became public (i know doordash and air BnB just became public) had interest in the Wolves but wouldn't say who it was.

All you can do at this point is laugh at the old man.

He is a very rich man, so not stupid entirely.
But..
If you're interested at all, I could share a story about how dumb Glen can be.

This isn't surprising. I'd guess that the biggest issue is Glen didn't feel like he could be certain that the team stayed in MN especially at a price he wanted.
The other thing I wonder is if he is feeling good about the trajectory of the team as a whole. If he thinks this team is going to make a step in the right direction he would likely like to see that through for another few months as a guy that has interest in the team and as a businessman. What if Edwards looks like a Star after his rookie season and the Wolves are a .500-ish team in the west...or better? Yes that may be an optimistic take but if a few things go well the franchise would be worth even more AND more importantly be more likely to stay in town because it's more likely to be successful.
I'm only speculating and I think it's clear Glen is willing to sell but he has to get the right offer. Maybe that right offer comes in a few months and it could be led by someone with ties to MN. Maybe KG ends up with a group that makes a good offer. I won't be surprised if I'm 5-7 months we hear of a possible sale or a larger minority partner joining. What happens on the court the next few months matters what direction this franchise is going. Let's hope it goes well for a number of reasons.

We have to hope Glen sells the team, If Glen passes, I'm not sure those who control his estate will be as determined as Glen to condition a sale on keeping the team in Minnesota.

I would think Becky would be the person who would be the person deciding the terms of a sale if Glen passed away. You are probably right she might not be as motivated to keep the team here as Glen* but if it was his last wish she might be a pretty tough sell in that regard.
*It's clear that Becky and the family isn't wanting to keep the team long term but would they be willing to keep it for a couple years till they found the right buyer? Maybe. It may depend on what kind of product was out on the floor. Christmas dinner at my house tomorrow is lasagna... :)

You lost me at a Christmas lasagna. We shouldn't have any conversations with you moving forward.
