So that makes TWO jobs in only 3 years that he actively tried to get fired from... to chase another gig?
So that makes two head coaching gigs where he very publicly had a falling out with the management team?
Interesting.

Agreed with what you are saying it is interesting to say the least and should be factored in for wherever he lands. But the counter point is the Grizzlies fired Hollins, Joeger and Fitzdale all who where successful and the Kings have done the same thing with Malone and now with Joeger so not the model franchises to say the least but I agree with you point no doubt.

Anyway back to the Grizzlies...I get the restructuring but it seemed like it wasn't really communicated well. I like JB but I'm not sure he is a good head coach so I don't really have a problem with him being fired it's how it went down that's concerning. Maybe JB would be a good guy to come here and help us play some defense as a lead assistant.
So...what does this mean for Joerger??? The Wolves? Other teams around the league looking for a coach? The carousel is spinning after all.

If the Wolves haven't already settled on Ryan Saunders as the team's head coach next season, then Joeger should certainly be on the list of candidates. I was impressed by what Joeger did with the Kings this season and they were definitely a fun team to watch. But he has a limited track record as head coach, doesn't have a stellar won-loss record overall and has been fired from both of his two head coaching gigs. I'd also like to know more about Joeger alienating management with two different teams in those two gigs. I don't want to read too much into those disputes with management, but they can't be dismissed. As fans we'll never know the detail, but the Wolves organization had better research the circumstances before hiring him as our next head coach.
But I still who the Wolves hire as the new PBO is far more important at this juncture.

I'm not sure how Joerger has a limited track record as a head coach having 6 full seasons with 3 seasons each as a full time head coach with two organizations that happen to fire coaches. In addition Joerger has 3 championships between the CBA and G-league. His worst season in the NBA was last season with 27 wins. Remember that was the season they were supposed to take a step forward and win because they signed all those veterans...and that didn't work out. The previous season they won 32 games and traded Cousins and Gay only played 30 games etc. it would be interesting to hear what Veternary guys like Vince carter George Hill or Zach Randolph had to say about Joerger.
To me it's easy to argue Joerger is a good coach. The question is how good and what trouble is he? The other question is do you hire him knowing he is at worse mediocre or hire someone else that has a wide range of possible outcomes? I didn't foresee Joerger being made available but even though I have concerns about him it changes how I view things surrounding the head coaching spot at this point. I honestly kinda had my mind made up on Ryan getting the job.
Edit: Lip I think the point of your post was clear I just thought bringing up the "limited track record" comment you made led to listing Joerger's accomplishments. I think it's fair to say we still don't know quite what he is which aligns with your post.
