Wolves vs Blazers GDT

Blazers announcers just gave a stat that the Wolves just gave up the most 3s in a 20 game stretch in NBA history. While the teams are shooting 41% from 3 in those games. Im happy Ryan Saunders has fixed all the problems that people blamed Thibs with.

Don't get benching Gorgui for Kat tonight. Gorgui has been the better player. Kat is complaining every single time down the court on both ends.

This is not even an over exaggeration. Since Ryan Saunders has taken over we are dead last in 3pts allowed and 3 pt % and one of the worst 3 pt defensive teams ever.

Final thoughts:
Wiggins was solid 21/7/4 on 41% shooting
Tyus had a stretch in the 3rd where he was damn good
Okogie started nice and really faded
Gorgui was amazing and should of finished the game instead of KAT
Kat was pathetic. he was complaining every possession. It is getting so bad. He might be the biggest complainer in the NBA and that is saying something. He is so special but man he negates some of his awesomeness because the refs get in his head.
I think Reynolds and KBD can be role players next year.
Bayless might be my least favorite wolf of all time. Below average D and so selfish watching him play basketball.

I agree with every one of your final thoughts except I wouldn't credit Wiggins with a solid game based on what I saw. You probably didn't see it on camera, but was repeatedly ball-watching when he could have chased down loose balls or challenged shots and his poor handle was once again on full display.
I'd add that Tyus was good almost the entire game except defensively when Saunders had him guarding the much longer Rodney Hood. Thankfully, Ryan corrected that mismatch in the second half, but it shouldh't have taken him that long.
What Gorgui did tonight is what he's done the last two games. He's clearly regained his confidence and he seems a bit lighter and quicker. I love his aggressiveness. I'm not eager to trade the Gorgui we've seen the past few games. You can actually trade Gorgui's uptick back to the game against the Clippers when he had 5 rebounds and 2 steals in only 12 minutes. He's had 4 excellent games in a row. Let's see if it continues the rest of this season. And yes, he should have stayed in the game instead of KAT.
KAT looks exhausted, but there's no excuse for losing control of his emotions and constantly whining. That absolutely has to stop. Ryan should give him a couple games off to recharge his batteries and think about putting a stop to his whining once and for all.
I'm totally with you on the potential of Reynolds and KBD. And I'm not sure I'd necessarily cap them at the role player level over the long term or even next season. Young players with talent and drive can improve a lot in course of an offseason.
Finally, watching Bayless is literally painful. Seriously, my whole body aches watching him play. Why the Wolves would play him over Terrell is beyond me. There is simply no way Bayless can be considered part of this team's future given his age and caliber play. The minutes he's getting lately should be allocated between Terrell and more minutes for Tyus.
The good news is that the Wolves have had a pretty good stretch the past 5 games considering the talent disparity that's existing with Covington, Teague, Rose and lately Gibson out. The Wolves have won 2 of those 5 games, one against the Warriors. The Wolves played competitively in all the other games, including tonight's. Again, I'm factoring in the talent disparity with all the aforementioned players out with injuries. More importantly, we've seen quality play from Gorgui, Okogie, KBD, Tyus Jones and Reynolds -- all of them arguably a part of the team's longer term horizon. Even Wiggins has been playing better. Don't get me wrong, I'm not thrilled with what we've seen. But I see some encouraging things to build on going forward. Now let's get some lottery luck and start next season with Zion or Ja. :)

All fair points. With Wiggins when I looked up his stats I was shocked he put up 21/7/4. That's why I said solid because it didn't feel like he made a huge impact but he did put up a very quality stat line.
I agree KAT looks so tired but his complaining is really starting to wear on me, so I can't imagine how it's wearing on the refs and his teammates.
Gorgui has been damn good and I hope some of this continues next year. I also noticed he isn't getting called for traveling on his pump fake what I actually think has opened his offensive game up.
With Reynolds and KBD I'm not capping their potential to just role players but for next year it would be huge to have 2 solid rotation pieces for dirt cheap when we are in cap hell and they both have some sort of potential.
In the end this season has been a grind with so many hills and valleys. But whatever happens Ryan needs to find away to teach defense because we just had the worst 20 game 3pt stretch in NBA history.
But hey Zion and Kat for the next 10 years sounds fun

Kekgeek - Yes, KAT's constant carping has to be wearing on the refs. I reached a point tonight when I wanted to run down on the court and give him a technical! I honestly don't think he gets a fair shake from the officials in most games - something that's even more apparent in person where you see him get held, pushed and beat up nearly every possession. But his constant whining at the refs just digs his hole deeper and deeper. It has to stop. It's time for Ryan to pull him aside and say "enough is enough; keep your mouth shut for the entire game and just concentrate on playing!" Then maybe sit him down for a couple games to think about it.

Don't let the fools gold of meaningless games paint guys like G in promising lights. How many times do we have to go through this false promise of beating the Warriors and guys finishing strong only to have it not make a bit of difference when it comes to the next season? We need to start caring more about how guys start seasons and less about how they finish them especially when there is not much to play for anymore.
