I get a little worried when there is so much excitement around a team that has accomplished so little. It's almost like a pumped up internet stock or something.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about our roster and the Thibs signing too. But I'd prefer if things would cool down just a little bit!

Q, these analysts are never held accountable for their projections. No risk in hyperbole and conjecture anymore. I agree let's take it down a notch

Well, there is pretty good reason for the excitement, so I don't necessarily fault them. And there is even some analytics to back it up! I just don't like it....makes the fall all the harder and I'm all about setting a low bar! It's served me well throughout my career at both Kmart and the DMV.

We know there is potential and its cool getting national pub, but we, in MN, know to be cautious. Wasnt our baseball team supposed to be good this year???

I agree with Q, as usual. Things are looking good, especially Towns, but we haven't really proven anything yet. I hope we get forgotten a bit so that the narrative doesn't become "why is this team underachieving?" when we're playing .400-.500 ball next year. Plus, I feel like we've been labeled "league pass darlings" before and look how the last 10 years have gone. I'm hopeful, but I hate it when outsiders are more opDOUGistic about our team than we are. It's OUR job to have ridiculously high expectations for our team.

I'm on board with Q and Drew in wanting lower expectations. :) I'm expecting an 8th or 7th seed in the playoffs next season. Anything higher than that would be gravy.

What do you guys think of the rest of the list? Speaking of unreasonably high expectations, how about the Knicks at #11?

The hard thing to know is what clubs will be able to sign the big name free agents that could vault them up quickly. In 3 years Melo will be 34, so 11th is pretty generous when the team has Porzingis and no other obvious young starpower and they have no first round pick this year. Unless they are able to sign some big name free agents, I don't see it.

I think Dallas and Houston are listed way too low. Those clubs are always willing to spend money so they should certainly be higher than 28 and 29th. Chicago at 27th is too low for a team with Butler. OKC should be higher too. I think Portland and the Lakers are too high.
