1. Minnesota Timberwolves
Brandon Ingram
Duke
Freshman
Forward
Ford: In terms of who should be considered the No. 1 prospect, I'm in Camp Simmons all the way. But I think the Wolves will be tempted to take Ingram here. They already have an elite passer in Ricky Rubio, and what they really need out of their 4-man is a floor stretcher.
More generally, they need a shooter. If Ingram continues to develop that jump shot, I think he'd be devastating with Towns in the middle and Wiggins on the wing.
Pelton: Allow me to make the case for Simmons: We don't yet know that Rubio will be in Minnesota forever. As recently as the trade deadline, they tried to make him the centerpiece of a deal with the Milwaukee Bucks for Khris Middleton, according to ESPN.com's Zach Lowe. The Rubio situation illustrates how fit, although important, can be fluid.

I saw that. I operates under the assumption that BOS then gets the 3rd pick, so obviously they feel a trade would work well for both teams, just like others have mentioned.

If Minnesota won a top-two pick, why on earth would they use it to trade down? I don't think anybody has mentioned that move in that situation as a good idea in this draft.

I have seen it. But then again, I have seen threads where guys suggest MIN sign 8 free agents for 3 or 4 open spots and, or trade the pick straight up for Serge Ibaka, so it's a mixed bag.
You mentioned this draft not being great. Well, I think when the consensus top pick can't hit the water while standing in a boat, well, there you go.
So MIN trading #1 to BOS for #3/#16 and a future 1st is not worth it?

Short and sweet: No. Not at all for me.
Would you go back and trade Love to Boston for No. 5, a mid-first rounder and a future first? Or would you rather have the No. 1 overall pick? Quality over quantity, especially when the No. 3 pick isn't miles better than the No. 10 pick. After Ingram and Simmons, you're really gambling in this class. No need to get cute in that situation.

You're entitled to your opinion. But I have to say: I find it odd that we celebrate Rick Spielman for trading down for more picks but seem to be against the Wolves doing it. And how many picks and/or whole drafts did we and/or the media disparage and then turn around and acted like we didn't? I don't remember anybody that upset about not getting Kawhi Leonard or Klay Thompson. Or the opposite? I can quote chapter and verse of how everybody thought Johnny Flynn would turn out to be Bob Cousey's illegitimate son, and it turned out he was Danny Devito's.

100% agree why trade the number 1 or 2 pick to trade down when there is such a percieved drop off from 2 to 3. If we trade the number 1 or 2 pick it should be for a young borderline to lower tier all star

3 questions
1. Is Ingram as a PF a legit thing?
2. It seems like there is somewhat of a split as to whether Ingram or Simmons will be the top guy. Anyone else think differently?
3. Do these supposed gurus have a clue that the Wolves have new decision makers now? I guess not. Rubio seems like a Thibs type player to me. Smart gritty defensive guy that actually takes care of the ball pretty well for a pass first PG with flair.

I'd trade down. I think this draft may be the worst in top tier talent in a while.
