Kudos to the Pacers for instigating the investigation. I doubt the NBA would come down too hard on the Lakers and Magic Johnson, but it's great to see the teams policing themselves.

If this were the Wolves instead of the Lakers, the NBA would find the Wolves guilty and impose massive penalties. But this is the Lakers. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I find it hard to accept that the Lakers simply by chance ended up with this year's 2nd pick in the draft, which is precisely the pick they needed to get Lonzo Ball.

My gut tells me the Pacers' allegations are true. In fact, I can't believe there were no discussions between the Lakers and representatives of Paul George. I just hope the NBA digs deep, finds the truth and comes down hard on the Lakers if the allegations are found to be true.

Nothing will come of this.

The easiest and most reasonable punishment is what I've seen on twitter. No draft picks or anything, but just that the Lakers can't sign George in the near future.
